How to HQ

I feel kind of stupid asking this, but is there a tutorial on how the construction on how to HQ works. I got a few things done by just messing around with it, but I do not understand how it works. The short tutorial in game was too short & I am confused on how to do it. I do not see a way to go back & look at the in game tutorial as it might help. I see the options for manage & cleaning, but I dont understand what the manage does, & does cleaning mean they get rid of all the trash & debris, or should I do that. Any help would be appreciated.

Don't need a city plan to assign a leader, just build a manager desk and assign someone to it. When it asks to tear everything down, pick "nevermind". Some settlers (mostly companions) have unique traits as leaders. But yeah. Personally I still dunno what scrap even is (assuming playing on categories or comps). Maybe it's on the wiki. And the whole scrap logistics as a resource thing is kinda confusing.

There is a new section on the Wiki called "Headquarters" that i've been working on, which is still under construction, but you might find some helpful information there.
Headquarters

I am having a problem with scrap as well but mine comes from no supply agreements. I can't get them to form. I've gone with Therese to Sunshine coop to talk with Stodge, he said ok, Theresa went back to HQ, I checked to verify a caravanner plot exists. And I have 2 other settlements that have caravan plots as well. I go back to HQ, assign Lupe to Logistics and when I click establish supply agreement, the window with the list of settlements to choose from never appears.
Am I missing something or have I run into a bug? and more importantly how do I fix the issue?

Did Lupe get assigned as the "Head of Logistics"? Go to the 'department desk' (the Logistics one is in the room with the Comm Array) and check there. That's meant to happen automatically, but it might not have.

Thanks for the idea. I just checked, and she is. I also just tried to dismiss and reassign her. But still when I attempt to est a supply agreement, it just gives the message saying the Log dept finished establish a supply agreement (looks like a quest update) and the dialog box for the settlements does not pop.

Well, I thought I was. I downloaded the latest Ch2 from Nexus, dated 7/22. but my ch2 version is still 26 and I think 2.2.0 is 29 on pc.

Edit: SS2 Chapter 2-55817-2-2-0-1658515636.7z is the file I DLed today so it looks like yes, I have the most recent.

On the off chance I have a corrupt save I've started up a new game. At least it's a fun game, but all that time and progress lost.

I dunno, that's a lot of settlement mods... Even though this one issue is probably unrelated to any of that. Dialogue, objects, locations mods, or just script lag is what I'd blame.

I finally got Lupe assigned to head of the department, but the game does not acknowledge it.It still shows that she needs to be assigned. Also, cannot get a supply line set up since my settlement(Taffington Boathouse) does not even show up on the list.Sadly, this game(?) is rapidly becoming to much trouble to play.
Correction,Lupe is not showing up as head of the department, and I am unable to assign her.Department desk does not help.

So you put Lupe into the Logistics Department and she still won't take over as the Department Head? That's... odd.

And I've never even see a settlement you control not showing up in the list of places offered for setting up a Supply Agreement before...

Could be that leader requirement is on, and Taffington doesn't have a leader? Idk if it should show up in the list in that case. Maybe there's a gunner attack on it that you didn't clear or something. Even though that's unlikely. Or it's more likely related to the fact Lupe isn't head of facilities. Or maybe you already have a supply agreement with it? Maybe its caravan plot is disabled or something? Owner incapacitated and all that? But I gotta agree.
That's... odd.
(I have that reaction a lot...)
I'd try unassigning everyone from logistics then reassigning one by one. And if Lupe is head of any other department (which somehow still happens), I'd make sure she isn't. And again, gotta be on the latest version. If the "supply agreement immediately fails" problem still persists, I'd assume the mod didn't update properly. But, could be wrong.

Taffington is where I sent Stodge and his group,so they do have a leader. When you enter HQ,the graph across the top, shows 1 employee in security, engineering, and logistics, but if you enter the employee manager window,it doesn't show anybody in any of the positions.I try to unassign Lupe at the dept desk, and it does show that she was unassigned, but immediately shows that she is the head of the logistics dept.I don't know what's going on with it.

Solved: I just put resources on simple and it collapsed the required items list and it was logistics issue that I was then able to correct.

Hi all, I am trying to build more barracks space in GNN, however, I cannot. I have a ton of supplies and from what I can see I have enough. Now there is a green arrow in the items required box but cannot figure how to scroll down to see all the items required and if I am short of required item or not to build the room.

I did a full reset of the game, fresh, current copy of all the parts (at least I think I got em all). Got rid of all the clean up mods. I still have the exact same issue. Does anyone know if there is a console command to get the supply agreement interface to come up?

The amount of "scrap" you have is meant to be the same pool of Virtual Resources your settlements are producing via Industrial Plots and consuming to upgrade etc. For some reason, it's not correctly 'linking' for some people and I have no idea why.
"Scrap Logistics", however, is meant to be a simple 500 per "Supply Agreement" you have active, and it should 'refresh' every time projects using it finish (as long as you exit Workshop Mode, wait a sec, then check again).

As for the reason there's two resources like that, think of it this way: "Scrap" is the actual building materials etc, "Scrap Logistics" is how many resources your HQ staff can actually get shipped to GNN and process at any given time.
If you get 500 flat per agreement and each person in logistics gets 2 agreements then what's the purpose of having people with the high appropriate SPECIAL stat in logistics?

More energy is needed for department projects, like extending caravan range and stuff. There's a few of them.
