Question How do I group select items and move them to a different layer?

I know this seems like a very basic question, but for the life of me I can't seem to get it to work. I built my entire settlement on the "Default" layer to begin with, then I was planning to use the layers tool to add small structures to it.

So I built my new structure above the settlement and now want to move it to a new layer so I can place it and possibly duplicate it. How do I do this? I've tried group select (holding "E") and copying the items (with hot key) while on the new desired layer. I can get one component to copy, but not the entire structure.

Am I doing it wrong? Any help would be much appreciated.

I'd also like to know this. From the video I watched it seems one approach is to make a new (empty) layer, switch focus to that new layer, build the new blueprintable structure on there, and then spawn a blueprint controller which you then use to blueprint everything on the current layer. You can then build that blueprint on other layers as needed, including the Default layer. But still, I'd like to know if there is a way to highlight an object on the default layer and then press a hotkey to move it or copy it to another layer. If you find out please post your findings back here!

There is currently no way to do that - items have to be grabbed and released individually to shift them between layers.

A possibility is to duplicate the default layer and then remove items you don’t want. Definitely not recommended for a big default layer - and you’d need to disable the default layer while removing unwanted stuff, else you might remove from the wrong layer.
