Hotfix 3.0.3b

I have no active scripts in my save , only 5 hours in , mucking around building stuff up , did a few quests . I'll assume I never induced it ... I noticed I had maintenance costs off but the caps meter was still going down due to power and torrents . I flipped it on and off and reset local laws and refreshed plots . I'll load back in to see if that issue is gone , and report back .

Edit : The Caps meter is still showing as if I'm loosing caps though the maintenance option is off. Is this intended ?

The maintenance costs are always being calculated now. they just don't affect your settlement unless you active the option.

Excuse me Tankthing , but how do I recognise if I'm or my ss section of game is suffering from this , I have been to tools page but things they're written have confused the heck outta me, as opposed with this , the posts I'm seeing mention maintenance costings, but I never have this turned on, only once, but its always off now
I've only had 2 coffee's this morning =_= ..
Just asking ...

The usual symptom is constant game crashes even on ini optimized symptoms.

its not an ingame thing, it's literally a thing you run outside the game that you point to your save and allows you to do things like this to it.

I found a very clear symptom is massive delays in getting the menu to pop up when activating an ASAM Sensor.

If you downloaded 3.0.3 or 3.0.3a yesterday, please update to 3.0.3b and roll back your save to before you patched.

If you're on PC, you don't have to roll back, you can use Fallrim Tools to kill the runaway script.

1. Download and install Fallrim Tools
2. Open Resaver.exe, load your latest save file.
3. Expand ActiveScripts, search for any entries of "SimSettlements:SimSettlementParentScript"
4. Expand each of those and look for "SetupCurrentMaintenanceCosts", if you find it, right click on the folder icon above it and choose terminate.
5. Click File->Save
6. Install 3.0.3b of Sim Settlements if you haven't already and load your save.

NOTE: If Fallrim Tools gives you a message about Invalid plugin index, snag the 3.0.1 version of Fallrim Tools.

Apologies for this issue guys, and thank you @EyeDeck for discovering and reporting it to me right away!

:swoon I'm having a hard time with this , trying to follow a you tube then coming back and following these instructions as simple as they are, I use win7
and extractor winrar, ..
I get to the part where I've opened the save the did a search for "SimSettlements:SimSettlementParentScript" then xplanded but what I got was "find owner" but if I clicked find owner a whole slew list came up and I did delete something , but there was no other choice like terminate or anything else just delete so I did ..
Now when going thru all that to expand I'm now getting :" cant find owner" so closing and save ing and installing 30.3b
The game seems to be alright so far ... I haven't been back to try donating to see if my game crashes again .. or not

The description of what to do in that video is pretty old and not entirely accurate to this problem.

When you expand ActiveScripts (click the + sign next to it), you'll see 38 folders with script names. You need to find the ones named SimSettlements:SimSettlementParentScript and expand them. Each time you expand one, look at the words that are now shown and check if any of them say "SetupCurrentMaintenanceCosts", if yes - right-click on the first SimSettlements:SimSettlementParentScript line above SetupCurrentMaintenanceCosts and choose the Terminate option. Repeat for each SimSettlements:SimSettlementParentScript folder under ActiveScripts.

For xbox one players playing on survival, what do we need to do to end these endless scripts? Start a new game or uninstall SS, load game and save, then resume SS?

uninstall, do a clean save, and then install the new 3.0.3b
warning: you will lose all your SS progress

also I think eyedeck is trying to find a fix for the saves without doing a clean install, so you may want to wait. or at least get a mod to manually save so you can get back to this one if he ends up with a solution

So when community exterminators was released, I completely deleted all my saves, and started a new one. However, I just saw That SS had another update as of a few moments ago, and updated. Do I still need to uninstall and repeat that whole process.

The script I posted in #25887 works, only thing is that it might come with unforeseen side effects. Still, beyond rolling back saves, I don't think there's any other way to do it on XB1 (other than running that script), even a "clean" install probably won't work given how FO4 saves work.

@Rfay16 - Yes. Community Exterminators fixed a huge bug caused by a silly Beth function, but unfortunately had a nasty bug of its own.

Okay, so basically I need to start an entirely new save again. Would a save with SS and ROTC on it already but no cities or structures built still work for the new update, or is a new game/character the only way to go? I ask because the new character I have been using has had SS and ROTC on it from the very beginning of the game.
