Tonight's hotfix addresses the following:
  • Fixed an issue where a second door was appearing in the Plutonium Well during the quest Well, Well, Well, that would prevent quickly exiting the area.
  • Fixed a bug that prevented the Tools > Hijack menu from appearing in the holotape, which is used to control which SS2 doors are enabled at any given time, for the sake of accessing vanilla or mod-added areas that share a door location with SS2.
  • SS2 will now attempt to force boot up the Chapter 2 controller quest if it failed to start on its own. This issue would have resulted in many oddities during quests, most noteably doors would lead to vanilla versions of cells, instead of the version with the SS2 story content.
    • If you experienced this issue, you’ll want to roll back your save to before you received such a quest objective to go into a location.
  • Fixed a bug at the start of the first SS2 quest, where any NPC would speak Jake’s line before you placed the first ASAM sensor.
  • Jake’s terminal in the hardware store is no longer flagged as owned. This should prevent it from appearing as crime when accessing it.
  • Fixed a bug that could prevent entering a settlement from running the correct updates to a variety of SS2’s system quests.
  • Fixed a bug that could cause MALA’s stats to be reset after she arrived at HQ, which could then cause problems in the available energy amounts during the HQ tutorial.
  • Jake, Aiden, Lupe, and Theresa will now be correctly returned to their normal outfits after the quest Moving Day starts.
  • Temporarily disabled a requirement for non-facilities workers to have living quarters. This feature may be restored in the future after more controls are added to handle distributing NPCs to living quarters directly.
  • Sever Supply Agreements action in HQ now correctly costs a “Command” instead of a Bottlecap.
  • Fixed an issue that would cause factions to not send the help they promised during the quest End of the Beginning. Note that this fix is not retroactive, and will only work when asking for assistance after this patch.
  • Max Scrap Logistics HQ can support is now correctly increased by 500 per supply agreement. Previously it was set to a flat 500 regardless of supply agreement count.
  • Increased Scrap Logistics capacity to 100 per Endurance of logistics workers, which better reflects the expected numbers. This will also ensure that in the early part of HQ, Lupe can handle the needs of logistics for a few basic construction projects to increase the number of living quarters so HQ’s staff can get big enough to afford more NPCs working in the Logistics department.
  • After starting a cleaning project, canceling during the “What should * be used for?” will cancel the cleaning project as well. This should allow players to explore through different options without committing Facilities energy if the room didn’t have an option they are looking for.
    • Once the add-on maker’s toolkit is updated, creators will be able to release add-on packs with more options to ensure nearly every room can be used for any purpose.
  • Fixed Simon’s quest regarding the library.
    • Players who had previously spoken to him about the job, should find the quest starting shortly after loading this patch.
  • Fixed several objects appearing incorrectly at Mass Bay and thus overlapping other items.

Xbox players, the versions to watch for when you can safely update are: 34 of SS2, and version 7 of Chapter 2.

For those of you who haven't seen it, I also started a post to track the issues we're currently investigating so you folks know if a fix is likely incoming soon for their issues: https://simsettlements.com/site/index.php?threads/currently-investigating.20360/#post-139985

I had a message like I started the simon quest (read the notes) even when I already did it.

The quest didnt appear in the log afterward, is that normal?

If I read the notes I have the next quest messages in the screen.

i finished well well well and my save times sudenly went back to normal in concord

entered a settlement and it went back to 30 seconds for a save

ok weird I cant build jury rigged defence plots, even assigning a settler never changes the holo display. gonna try a restart

I've been experiencing 'Operation could not be completed' when I tried to update the SS2 and SS2 Chapter Two

EDIT: I'm playing on PC. It's saying that it's missing ss2.esm and the other .esm file for Chapter two when I download from Nexus. Is this fine to keep playing?

So when I got it fixed and returned to my save all asam plots are gone and even the additional settlers.
I was in the middle of chapter 2 and now when I went back to Sanctuary, I met Jake again. The very first quest of SS2.

EDIT: It's all fixed now

I'm unable to re download Chpater 2 for some reason, all I'm getting is the error saying operation could not be completed, anybody know if there's a way to fix this? Or what I'm doing wrong? I was playing through Ss2 chapter 2 quests just fine last night and after updating this morning all of my SS2 mods plus workshop framework just uninstalled themselves and had to be downloaded again.

Edit: I'm on PC, I use all mods through the in game mod hub.

I've been encountering that problem so I just decided to download the mod off of Nexus. It's a problem from Bethesda I believe and I couldn't wait.

Do you still use all your other mods through the in game hub? And just use Nexus for chapter 2? I was thinking of doing that but wasn't sure how well it would work, ive never used Nexus for Fo4

Well, I only have the workshop framework, unofficial patch, and hud framework in the game. The only ones that are not downloaded in-game is Sims Settlements 2 and Chapter 2

Everything is still working fine though. You can still set their load order. Just put the manually downloaded files at Fallout 4/Data

Now I actually have the quest in the log, but I already complete that and all the cpd questline.

I have the exact same thing happening to me on the following quests: 'Conquering Provincial Dwelling' and 'Collecting Publications Detail'

I replied on what sombran22 said but decided to give my version of the bug:

Quest messages pop-up as if I am starting a quest which I already finished, it activates and expects me to do the quest. Seeing as I already completed the quests the items and dialogue isn't working and it marks a quest marker on my map and pip-boy (under finished quests)

Happening to me on the following quests: 'Conquering Provincial Dwelling' and 'Collecting Publications Detail'
it re-activates the quests but I cannot finish them (already done), also the quest 'Catastrophe Prevention Drive' won't start for me

Didn't work for me unfortunately, I tried the data folder, and even with just chapter 2 on vortex, and still couldn't get back my progress even with loading an older save, guess I'll just have to wait for Bethesda to get it together.

Edit: Nevermind! I loaded an even older save and now everything is back to normal, weird but I'll take it!

I keep experiencing a bug where I cant see any of the plots in the workshop, i see the foundations, stairs, spacers, containers and also the city planner desk but no plots, even after starting a new game and talking to Jake when you first build the radio beacon he gives me the ASAM sensor and tells me to build a plot but I just cant.

Despite the 2.0.0b fix, during the "How to HQ" quest when I have to talk to Stodge about the lack of materials, Stodge talks and I'm in a loop, how is that possible?
Thanks in advance for your solution

If you want to send me your save I can take a look at it. The .fos file can be found under Documents\My Games\Fallout4\Saves, post it to a google drive, then share it and DM me a link.

decided to give up on that save and make a new one. cant seem to make a character without the old dreaded "sim settlements failed to startup" error
