Tonight's hotfix addresses the following:
  • Hardware store roof items will no longer start the game enabled, these were meant to appear much later
  • NPCs should be much less likely to sleep in mid-air when incapacitated while not owning a bed.
  • Generic dialogue will now be disabled during the quest How to HQ to avoid the NPCs interrupting quest conversations with random quips.
  • Fixed some flickering near the ceiling of the Thompsons’ home.
  • Fixed a bug that prevented Theresa from showing up at HQ which broken several conversations during the quests Moving Day and How to HQ.
  • Rebreather should now correctly allow underwater breathing and rad resistance has been increased from 15 to 100.
  • Note with Rebreather is no longer blank.
  • Fixed a bug in How to HQ, where if Stodge was recruited during the quest Who Can ASAM the conversation with him could become stuck in a loop.
  • Fixed an issue where Jake’s radio frequency was not working correctly at the start of the quest Hostile Takeover.
  • Jake’s Private Frequency will now be correctly disabled at the end of Picking Up The Pieces.
  • Added a check to the start up of Picking Up The Pieces to try and force itself to shut down when appropriate, as it seems for many players this quest is stuck running in the background.
  • Fixed a bug with several gurneys in HQ that were set to havok settle, which could cause very odd placement issues.
  • Adjusted the volume on several sounds.
  • Fixed an issue with radio static from the PA in Vault 81.

One of the common issues I'm seeing is that people are attempting to go to our custom cells and finding themselves in the vanilla cell, this means the Chapter 2 controller quest failed to start for some reason. I haven't found a pattern to this, but you can confirm if this is your issue by running:

sqv ss2c2_mqmaster

If the returned information says State: Stopped, or Enabled: No, you have this issue. Would love to see some before and after saves with this problem - that is the save before you installed Chapter 2 as well as the one in this current state where the controller quest is not running.

Xbox Players, as always - there will be a delay before these updates are available, watch for version 33 of SS2, and version 6 of Chapter 2 to know when it's safe to update.

Still have jakes radio not working for hostile takeover. Do I have to roll back to much earlier or something?

I have had a couple save games take 5 - 10 seconds this morning but no more multi minute pauses while saving anymore

You can try rolling back to an earlier save. I'd like to see that save file though- if you can upload it to google drive, share it, and DM me a link!

I had vortex return this message upon installing SS2 update.

Probably got a corrupt download, you'll likely need to download the files again. If multiple people are having this issue, it might be that the Nexus CDN is having issues.

Likely will be another hotfix tonight and you can try again.

Can confirm that one. And I have issues with loading saved games, Even when ReSaver doesn't report an error in the save game, I had an undknown amount of save games I had to delete because reloading one of them resulted in a CTD while loading. And the reason definitly is SS2 C2, because as soon as I disable the mod the game loads fine.

Here is one of the damaged save files

Not only the longer save game time (which is longer now with chapter 2), is game start from the FO4 script extender game load. I use "Run as Admin" on the icon and there is significant dwell time even before the screen goes black and shows the ENB text in upper left window. This is much more so concerning than the game save time. I use survival so I don't have autosave enabled, and all my saves I do is anywhere where there is no commotion going on, and looking at a wall or some sort of object, away from NPCs, etc. This save time is longer than normal, but within around 5 seconds. I do have a SSD with 65gb available so it is not within the SSD issue of slowdown at a certain percent full.

John

EDIT:

Fresh re-start computer - background utilities shut off

Test 1 - start to black screen 0:24 - black screen with blue circle of loading to ENB notice 3:03 - menu screen at 3:34 - game loaded at 4:42
Quit to desktop
Restart game immediately
Test 2 - start to black screen 0:23 - to ENB notice 0:33 - menu screen at 0:54 - game loaded at 2:06

I did more tests after and more similar to Test 2 - not sure if an initial startup is a F4SE/ENB loading issue or this is a caching issue.

I basically turn off auto saves and just hard save before any big quests to do. Auto saves even before this where an issue never trust auto saves same with Skyrim. Can confirm though no change saves still take me 30secs-1min when I’m settlements out of them it’s fast like normal. I also have city upgrades turned to no auto upgrades and plots hold till visit.

buffout 4 and high fps physics fix combo seems to be the way to keep this in check though on my end.

I am not using Buffout in my system. Confirm out of settlements is about normal, settlements are slow times with some FPS hits more than normal.

Xbox save times have also increased. About a minute but has taken over 3 minutes. I have auto saves turned off.
My method for a 'good' save is to fast travel to Vault 111, wait for about a minute and then save. It usually only takes a few seconds then.

I have noticed 2 things that extend save time when using above method.
1 - plots are upgrading at a settlement. Fix is to let them finish updating.
2 - The game is trying to run a 'settlement under attack' radiant quest. I have no fix for this.

I am also using Better Settlement Defense mod that is based on the Workshop Framework - this may be contributing?

Does this fix the Auto-Repair/Destroy issues introduced by the update to Workshop Framework? The only way I can get my power grids to work is by turning them off. Otherwise my power grid breaks if I leave the settlement and come back.

I am at the concord Plutonium well, this is after Vult 75... I get to the door that should already be unchained and it says Chained and I can't get there normally found a fence jump and get in th room. Now check the"chained door" and it says its chained on the other side. So both sides show no chains and both are chained ,I can't get Out of the room he can't get in to finish this part...Termial has the quest marker and if you read all the notes it doesn't go away.

Also gunner tech was not at the hardware shop.
