Headquarters glitch

When I enter HQ from either fast travel or the door I slowly fall through the ground and then CTD

I lose all collision detection and can't interact with anything, even when I toggle TCL

I've tried restarting the game and reinstalling the mod.

I've put so much resources into the hq how do I remedy this?

Got exactly the same issue, all was working fine, the last thing I did was build power transfer plots in my settlements for the Commonwealth Rising Quest and when i travel back to the HQ i slowly fall through the floor. Happens only in the main cell/lobby area, not in the basement or office areas.

edit: pretty sure it has something to do with how the cell is loaded. If i enter via door or even load a older save after already being in game (and glitching through the floor) i have no collision even though the save worked before. If I close the game completly and load a save where I entered and glitched before it works until i leave and enter again...

I've had this happen to me in parts of Malden Center (even with reloads from outside the cell). I was able to TCL past the affected sections (it wasn't the whole cell, but it was consistent areas), get The Ron's info document retrieval quest done, and get out. Many (many) hours of gameplay later, I went back for the vanilla Railroad quest and I was able to navigate the same areas just fine for whatever reason.

While I'd guess it's more likely related to the Unofficial Patch, SS2, or vanilla, here's all the mods I have in common with your modlist:
True Storms - Wasteland Edition
Unofficial Fallout 4 Patch
Vivid Fallout (the texture pack)
Full Dialogue Interface
HUDFramework
Improved Map with Visible Roads
Darker Nights
Enhanced Blood Textures
AWKCR
Armorsmith Extended
High Res DLC Black Face Fix
Workshop Framework
Mod Configuration Menu
Sim Settlements 2 - Chapter 2
Sim Settlements 2 - Sim Settlements 2

So I just tested out NJ's save and found out some interesting things, that match what @lazyNiks reported.

If I go into the cell, I immediately start sinking - plus I can see a bunch of physics items falling infinitely in various spots. If I then load into a completely different save with a different character that's in HQ, that character has the problem too! So the issue is the way the cell is being loaded into memory. If I exit the game, and load back up into my character, the sinking is gone.

Also, if I make a new copy of NJ's save without any other mods but WSFW, SS2, and Chapter 2, exit the game, and then go to HQ - the issue doesn't occur. So there's definitely a mod conflict going on here that's baking something into the save file that gets cleared with a reload of the game.

I do think I have a workaround for you guys though, if you coc into the basement and take the elevator up, the bug doesn't seem to occur in NJ's save. So it might be that loading from the exterior into GNN with something in the save file is a problem, but loading between interiors probably gives the game more resources to properly load the cell.

Can you guys test this idea out and let me know if it works for you? The command would be:

coc SS2C2HQBasement

If that works for all of you, I could make a quick and dirty patch for you that moves the fast travel point to the basement.

I really appreciate you getting back to me kinggath, It impresses me to no end that the head honcho is helping out this issue.

The basement teleporting works for me, taking the elevator up doesn't. For now this at least let's me manage stuff from the basement so I'm content.

As for making a patch, I don't think that's necessary unless a large percentage of the playerbase also has these issues. The next step for me is removing mods one at a time that could cause conflict and report back.

Cheers again kinggath

Something to report! I don't know if this is just me, or if others have it, but disabling the unofficial fallout 4 patch fixed my issue entirely!

I can't confirm that disabling UFO4P helps. Atleast in my case i still sink into the ground fast traveling from Homeplate to HQ with the unofficial patch disabled. I also sink into the ground when I coc from Homeplate to the HQ basement and then take the elevator up.
I think if it is a mod conflict it has to be something that's baked into the savegame permanently (at least in my case) because even if i disable everything besides WSFW, SS2 & Chapter2 it still happens.
Also some google searches showed me that people had this bug in vanilla too in a few cases, so maybe it's a good old engine bug.

edit: maybe if it helps narrowing this down my save and loadorder. I do have quite a few mods in common with NJ37, but I'm not sure if it is the same root cause since disabling the UFO4P fixed it for him.

Is it just from homeplate to hq?

Have you tried the COC SS2C2HQbasement command?

When I'm in the basement it let's me make command decisions, but it's going to not help when you're moving past how to HQ.

I found that kinggath was right in that enabling disabling mods mid run was majorly destabilising, I begun crashing at a rapid rate.

Since it takes so long to get to the HQ section my recommendation is restarting but making sure you've got 0 other overhauls installed like razemysettlement, horizon, metro2077 gasmasks of the wasteland.

Or use the cheat holotape to jump there and the tmm 1 command to reach the hq asap and just take the time disabling and enabling mods on fresh saves, but that's a hell of a time sink. If you do follow through post the results here, because this exact issue isn't frequently mentioned and it could be what points future people in the right direction to a concrete fix

No it happens from everywhere as soon as I enter HQ, I just used homeplate here bc it's usually a pretty save area without much going on in terms of scripts etc.
I did try the COC SS2C2HQbasement command and I can use the basement normally, but as soon as I enter the lobby via the elevator I start sinking. And yes disabling mods in a running playthrough usually messes more things up then it fixes.

Yeah I had that exact issue. As for now at least you're just gonna have to progress as far as you can upgrading the hq from the basement and when you have to use the office space just cry or reset. I'm sorry I can't offer more help
