Gunners Plaza "inaccessible"?

Messages

I am told to follow Lupe, I beat the two waves of Gunners and then nothing happens... Infinite enemy spawn, Lupe is just standing around and the door on the right with the quest marker says "inaccessible"

How am I solving this? Am I missing something?

You have to wait for Lupe to catch up and to defeat at least one wave of gunners. If neither of that happened, the door can't be opened. Simple as that.

This is something that was changed slightly in the most recent update, that I swear I ran through a dozen times to check it worked before I told kg it was good to go...
Just checking - is Lupe completely unresponsive? Like, even if there's still combat going on, she's just standing there not returning fire? (Also, if you can find him, check what Aiden's doing too).

Some more information:

I chose the "we go through the front door" option
  1. The night scene plays fine, all the mines explode and the screen flashes.
  2. The fight starts, Lupe gets a quest marker and joins the fight. She does take part in the fight.
  3. The game tells me to beat the first wave, then the second. After these two quest stages are complete, Lupe continues to fight for a bit but then stops and just stands there. Completely unresponsive. Still has a quest marker.
  4. The door with the other quest marker shows "Inaccessible"
  5. I went to the roof. Aiden is greating me and tells "us two" (probably Jake and me) to take the elevator down, he will stay up and not let any Gunner pass. The elevator however is not operational.
  6. Infinite Gunner waves.

Some additional information:
  • I am using a multiple follower mod. I just sent my followers away and will try without them. That solved some issues with another quest, the one where you find the vault hub in the basement.
  • I am using complex sorter. If my next attempt without the followers will not have any results, I will try without the complex sorter patch and see if that fixes things.
Edit: First attempt without followers didn't work out.
Edit2: Sadly, the attempt without the complex sorter patch also didn't work out. If it's a conflict on my end, I dont know what it is :(

Is there anything else I could provide? I did not play this quest yet so I would rather not like to skip it with the holotape.

Edit: I just used "unlock" on the door and it seems to work. Sometimes it's the easiest solutions. Lupe seems to do her thing again. I will report if I run into more problems from here.

Yeah I don't know what happened to your game, I just ran through that sequence myself twice and the door didn't say Inaccessible at that point... Lupe was still fighting as best I could tell, too.
Heavily modded Fallout does what heavily modded Fallout does :/

But after this everything went on mostly fine, and I am glad that I could solve this without skipping stuff. First time that I managed to keep a save file intact long enough to come to that point in the SS2 questline :D

And I freaking love this mod so much. So well done.

Glad you got it to work, I'd have to say that's my favourite quest of the entire questline. Big Battle Sequences with an actual purpose are always good, especially with the "gather allies from the people you've met along the way" element. And (if you take the right paths in the few dialog sequences) there's some good storyline stuff in there too, including a few dropped hints at what Chapter 3 will do.

Glad it workled. But since you seem to have removed mods mid playthrough, be prepared to run into other glitches.

I had a heavily modded game also before I decided to reduce the loadout significantly, as I was running into problem after problem. Mostly mods that heavily relied on scripts, since the game engine can only handle so many scripts at any given time. I still have more than 130 active mods, but they are mostly appearance, weapons and quest mods, new lands, that are considered fine by the SS2 team. I removed anything that could add additional strain on the engine.

Yeah I cut a lot of script heavy mods for this playthrough as well. Still lots of plugins and stuff. But I have to say, SS2 this playthrough has been mostly stable for me. The bugs I have with SS2 are mostly not even related to SS2 itself but I only enounter them during SS2 quests because they utilize lots of mechanics the game has to offer.

I just had the same issue (although not the same mods that the original poster had). Attack on plaza starts, bombs go off, endless gunner waves and Lupe and Aiden are just standing around like they've not got a care in the world, not attacking. Can't talk to Lupe, doors to plaza are inaccessible. I was able to move on only by console unlocking one of the doors.
