Going from Xbox to PC, questions

Samsung Evo is amazing, it's what I am using.

I dont plan on having more mods than maybe 5 or 10.
Nexus has a whole lot more options and PC doesn't have the 2GB filesize limit(Individual mods can and do pass that on their own, Unique NPCs is over 6GB by itself). On PC you get access to super cool tools like xEdit, Mod Organizer 2/Vortex, Wrye Bash, Creation Kit, BodySlide/Outfit Studio, xLODgen, there are some other fancy ones but I only used them on Skyrim SE so far. Knowing how to use these tools lets you have a lot more control over the game. Fallout 4 Script Extender will open up some crazy awesome stuff like Faster Workshop that makes starting workshop build mode go from taking minutes to instant.

PC can do a whole lot more. The Nexus doesn't have same restrictions as Bethesda Net, which bans stuff like CBBE plus the upload process on Bethesda Net is a big pain so a lot of mod authors don't bother to release on Bethesda. For Fallout 4 I have about 350 plugins, my FO4 install is over 130GB and I know some people who have more heavily modded installs than me. I figure mine is likely average. I would definitely suggest to plan on that you will using more mods than on console. For me it was like 100x as many plugins since I usually had like 30 at most on Xbox.

A great starting point is BiRaitBec Modlist (https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/23556) which is pretty much what I use although I also have all Sim Settlements addon packs, I use 3 in 1 + Conqueror instead of base Sim Settlements + IR and I skipped a few of the yellow entries which are the ones considered to be optional recommendations. I mostly just skipped stuff that in general require a lot of patches for them since I have limited time to play the game. Similar to MrCJohn I'd recommend it to everyone. With a 4GB card I think the Performance Repack or Author's Choice would be pretty ideal, the author uses a GTX 980 4GB. BiRaitBec has a sticked comment with the standard load order which is updated whenever significant changes were made to the list.

On Skyrim SE I used Lexy LOTD Modlist and the list by itself has 584 plugins before merging(Advanced stuff, I only do it if specifically told to do so by a modlist. I never do it on Fallout 4) even with me skipping survival stuff like Frostfall/Campfire/iNeed and without me having yet chosen anything extra at all that I want from SSE Nexus. On SSE I used DyndoLOD, zEdit, zMerge, Mator Smash, probably some others I'm forgetting too.

True. Benchmark videos usually show unmodded Fallout 4.

Good luck to you!
I'm finding that my XBone just can't handle Conqueror. :( I get serious lag, freezes, and crashes when 15+ enemies show up to fight my ~15 soldiers in a level 1 Outpost.
As others have said, on PC you have far fewer limitations: more mods via Nexus, no limit on size or number, no beth.net censorship, plus likely better performance depending on your system
The One X got ganked by the forced download of the 4k textures, and so did not see better performance on this game. My basic XBone has tried, but just can't do it.

i just downloaded Fallout but cant start it until i get my graphics card tomorrow, i noticed on the start screen though theres not a mods option... going to look up how to install mods now :)

I'm sitting at about 37gb for fallout on PC now can't wait to get my graphics card and see if i installed all these mods correctly! :))

Ryzen 3000 just got announced and confirmed for a July 7th release. They only announced mid to high models but I'm sure the others like 3300/3400/3500 should be soon to follow. Navi was also mentioned but not much details other than they will show it at E3.

https://www.guru3d.com/news-story/amd-announces-ryzen-7-3700x3800x-and-ryzen-9-3900x.html

Ryzen 5 3600, 6 core/12 thread, base clock 3.6Ghz / boost clock 4.2Ghz, $ 199

I think I'm fully prepared for fallout tomorrow!!! :)
Nice! It should be a pretty big jump compared to Xbox One!

I recommend to use a Mod Manager like Mod Organizer 2/Vortex/NMM, check out some great youtube guides like:

I have installed Mod Organizer 2, I have 22 mods including the DLC. I noticed I don't see cbbe body mod is that normal? Although I do see my Classy Chassis Outfit replacer mod.

Plugged in my gpu and reconnected my power, turned on pc, Bios showed up then No signal, inserted disc as instructed and nothings happening?

Gamer poets videos are great for anyone starting out to learn about mod management. Have a look at his texture optimisation video @Nick Farrell It's a lot of work and you don't need it right now because you think you are only going to use a few mods, but that will change in the future, I guarantee.
100% this. I think I had same mindset when first coming to PC, that I'd use a dozen or two mods outside of having all of the Sim Settlements addon packs(I'd gotten really sick of uninstall/reinstall stuff because I wanted X or Y plots).

I think that Texture Optimization and the referenced mod (https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/978) will be a big help. If I had 4GB card I would probably use it.

I believe the issues with my gpu not working was lack of power, getting 500w evga psu tomorrow sometime :)
