Godrays problem

Here’s how I set my graphics settings: use fo4 shortcut, open settings on launcher, advanced button, settings that I want, then exit and launch through f4se. This usually works for a while. Here’s my dilemma. I always turn godrays off. They never stay that way, usually reset to low. However sometimes ALL of my settings return to ultra. I can tell when it happens cuz all 15 frames per second are beautiful. Does anyone know what causes this, and how I can stop it? Or at least how I can turn off godrays for good cuz they’re 90% of my problem.

also, if you’re using an optimized texture pack like Vivid, do your texture quality settings even matter?

IIRC, turning godrays off in the game settings does not actually turn them off. They default to low. There are only two ways I know of to actually turn them off.

1. using the console command gr off
2. a mod that changes the gameplay setting
