Question game freeze in diamond city market after update to 4.0.8 - reverted back to 4.0.7b

heads up, this morning, i updated simsettlements 3 in 1 and conqueror to 4.0.8 as i normally do.
i am not playing conqueror but i have it installed in my playthrough, and i am basically playing the vanilla game but with the latest sim settlements and conqueror versions.
i load up my game and it loads without issue - and i need to go to diamond city. i fast travel as normal, spawn in the market place and i interact with solomon and the weapon guy with the massive head on a tiny body. directly after both interactions the game freezes. no ctd, no nothing. just a stuck game screen. difficult to get the game to end and return to desktop but eventually i get it to do that.
it did this, first with solomon and then with the weapon guy in two separate restarts.
i revert back to 4.0.7b and the game continues without a hitch.
not saying it's directly related to this weeks's update, but they are the only two mods i have updated in this play through.
after reverting to 4.07b i also updated industrial cities addon to the latest 'b' patch, but this was after i rolled simsettlements and conqueror back.
just asking the good folk here to keep an eye out - i am absolutely not ruling out my game here, as i restarted the same game twice and the hang occurred after interacting with separate vendors, so it may not be possible to recreate on demand.

@Dante4570, you go back to a save before you updated.

Remove 4.0.8 and enable 4.0.7

I'm guessing that is Vortex? I'm a dinosaur and using the mod menu that is in FO4.

Also, I took Phil_T_Casual's advice and sat in Home Plate for 15 minutes. Still got a CTD.

Did you go back to a save before you updated?

It works best if you are in an internal cell already. Make a save. Then install the update.
Go back in the game and wait. Then try it. Given it is Triangle of Death better to walk in not fast travel so fast travel to someplace like Sunshine or Concord and then walk in slowly.

My exit save from last night was in the Memory Den. The 1st thing that happens when I load it up is a message saying I have successfully updated Sim Settlements. I'm going to try sitting in the Memory Den for 15 minutes , Fast Travel to Concord and walk to Sanctuary and see what happens.

Didn't work; I can get to Red Rocket, but once i get near Sanctuary, I get a CTD.

okay, i think the game freeze issue is local to this game i am playing right now, as after hours and hours and hours, i managed to get the game to freeze again running 4.0.7b. this time i was on the way up the tower to get rex and strong and the game froze on me. so i think we can rule out the game freeze as a consequence of updating to 4.0.8.

sorry for the false alarm and i hope this didnt cause anyone too much work on what appears to be an issue local to me. i'm going to run a few things, process explorer and a few other diagnostic tools to see if i can capture the activity around a game freeze. if i find anything i will report back. but the important thing to take from this is the issue is NOT caused by 4.0.8.

So I got Vortex, uploaded the previous version and have no issues.
