Solved Foundations ?

Hello people :)
I discovered Sim Settlement 3 weeks ago, and plans to use it. But it's a real overhaul, with a lot of things to learn and to … digest. The full automatisation of existing blueprints doesn't really match to me. But build settlements by hands neither. So i decided to adapt : I'll create my own city plans with upgrades to continue enjoying the creativity aspect of the settlement, and will mix handmade and plots structure (in order to have some life in it). I already learned a lot, read many guides (Toolkits, Tranfer Settlement), started a translation of the mod for personal use.
Question concerning foundations… before to start creating the lvl3 blueprint of my sanctuary city plan, i'd like to know if foundations (vanilla ones) can be modified in the processus of exporting. If I destroy, or manipulate some foundation for comfort (angle, height etc...) with PlaceEverywhere, will it be taken into account or not ?
And second little question, i've read on guides that using a mod expending settlement size would require to create a scrap profile. I've downloaded "all settement extended" which is designated here https://simsettlements.com/web/wiki/index.php?title=Border_Expansion_of_Existing_Settlements as a helpfull mod. Will i still need to create such a profile with this mod?

If you mean the 1x1 foundations yeah that's fine . But if you mean those ones in sanctuary under the houses ,I wudnt touch those will mess with navigation.

You will need a scrap profile and a new scrap baseline if you use any mod that makes changes to the bordor of a settlement. may be wonky if you don't make one ;)

Mmm… in the first place, i was going to ask you "Why would it mess with nav when "Place Everywhere seems" not break anything in meshes ?" Then i launch a savegame from nexus designed for SS users, and… damn i can not scrap foundations anymore, neither house ??? In fact I think my savegame was corrupted after i uninstalled ScrapEverything, it continued to work when it was not really there :). Thanks a lot for quick and simple answer anyway :), i won't touch foundation.

So now, let's imagine i would want to have a Lvl 0 Vanilla house destroyed, and have a Prewar House at the end (lvl3), could I :
- Scrap my prewar house (with Scrap Everything), build a "Homemaker" prewar playerhouse at the same place. (lvl3)
- Scrap the house and rebuild the same with modified dirty texture. (lvl2)
- Import lvl2 Blueprint on a new game, to have the original destroyed house (lvl1)
?
Would it make any sense? Is it possible, or does a better solution exist?

Yes I think you can do that But the user will need scrap everything as well.

But to be honest I would avoid Scrap everything ,it can cause so many issues .

Best to scrap those houses that are already fallen down and build your new house on one of those foundations

Let me throw in a couple of thoughts from a player's standpoint and a bit of history. I second the comment above about Scrap Everything. I had it installed myself up to a year before SS came out and it really messed up a lot of saves. I have not looked back since taking it out of my games and I don't miss it. About foundations.... before SS came along, The only things you could really do at Sanctuary was to scrap all the wrecked houses and then build stuff on and over the pads.

A wood foundation was either 2x2 or 1x1 with floors the same size. Same for metal & concrete. You had to make structures to fit a particular location... it was a LOT more work. One suggestion I have is to play he game and learn how stuff goes together. It will take awhile. Once you get some gametime under your belt your preferences will change..I can almost guarantee it. Have fun. :good:hi
