I decided to clear out the kind of meh settlement I had at Finch farm and prep a little bit for the expansion...
This sortof just kind of happened, I guess I'm constitutionally incapable of having an empty settlement once I get started.
See, nice and clean (and mostly flat thanks to the new ground pieces)
OK, I had to lay down a few farms, just as prep... I can always swap em out when the expansion drops.
Those farms are going to need plenty of water... Lets set that up too...
I may as well lay out the communal meeting area while I'm here, a couple of vendors, a bathroom, some spare beds and my typical workshop area in the back left
All fixtures function and the showers grant happiness. (Showers censored for privacy, I'm sure Settler #2142 wouldn't appreciate his naked bits published to the internet.)
Well, they needed defenses too.. just to keep the riff raff out.
And now a "basic" enclosure big enough for the tallest stuff that might be in one of the packs. I think I'll play with a nice airy open clean greenhouse style.
I should just put down a few things to help the settlement get started, maybe enough residential to support the farms when they fill out and a few commercial plots to keep the settlers occupied.
Hey farm, you've got an escapee... He's about 3 stories straight up from where he should be. How'd you even get up here little guy?
Uh oh, ran out of residential space, better build more residential plots up on top, I'll just add this Institute themed glass roof thing so they have some room to grow.
And we get get Dish Network
Lovely views
I think there's an overpass in there somewhere...
What was I doing again?
BTW, if you're building on the bridge and having trouble with navmeshes or you're like me and straight up deck the whole thing over to save the hassle, you're going to run into an issue with the settlers sinking into the decking. This is fixed with a little help from HZS EHB & WDB's (working double beds). That mod comes with an invisible solid box you can place inside of stuff to keep the settlers from spawning through the floors. I stick em in there, then sink them to just under the deck level with place everywhere. Problem solved.
