Fallout Shelter plot

It occurred to me (after going through multiple rad storms in settlements with no interior spaces), that of all the plots settlers can build, a fallout shelter is not among them.

A fallout shelter that the player and/or settlers could retreat to during a rad storm would be a handy option.

You know that is a darn good idea. That could be a cool plot idea. Maybe add in the vanilla rad removal contraption I have never used? Still, I can't believe other smarter folks haven't thought of this also? I'll have to run down inside my iron mine plot to see what happens when next I find myself in a rad storm? I don't have a weather mod installed right now so my need is minimal and after the late early game, there are clothing mods that minimize the need. I have to wonder if it some type of game engine issue. Above ground, concrete doesn't work real well?

There are a few really good basement mods that I don't use. Oddly, I can't remember using the Sanctuary root cellar to see if the player takes rads while sheltering in there?

Thinking about it, I think the interior cells are safe? I have used some of Red Rockets mods "highly recommended" and I don't think I took rads in them. Maybe some of his mods are a good choice for you?
