Probably a minor spoiler.

Is Cola supposed to follow you as soon as you return to Old Paul at the end of Let Sleeping Dogs Lie? I've got her following me wherever I go and I can't interact with her. Also, Old Paul is asking for food to feed her but is not taking it from me when I offer it.
 
I’m on a Xbox One X running the “F” hotfix with a fairly small load order, but it’s the same problem. If I could send the save file I would.
 
Here's my current save. I've played ahead a bit since completing Let Sleeping Dogs Lie. Separate issue, but I'm currently trying to complete Hub of the Problem, however Jake won't move now that I've entered the basement. I cannot progress further in the quest.

I am not using Unlimited Followers, but I am using Everyone's Best Friend and More Smarter Companions
also using more smarter companions.. altho that one shouldn't affect these... idk
 
Run into the same behaviour with Patch f - something i didn't run into with an older install of fallout with the d patch.

I too have this issue. I am using Everyone's best Friend and thought maybe that caused it.

This bug occurs even without any mods that affect companions. The only non-cosmetic mods I have installed are TrueStorms, Armorsmith, and Eli's Armor Compendium, and none of those should be touching anything even remotely related to this quest or the associated AI.
 
On F, I am having this problem also with a new playthrough. I am using everyone's best friend, but I'm also using 380 other mods, so you really don't want my save file.
 
Still investigating this. In the saves I've loaded so far, she immediately ran back to Old Paul - so hoping I just incidentally fixed it. If that turns out not to be the case, then this is likely some sort of mod conflict.

I'll try doing some hacky stuff to make sure she didn't end up a follower somehow.

So I don't know if this helps, but the AI package SS2_ColaFollowOwnerPackage that Cola uses when she is supposed to become Paul's pet has "Treat as Player Follower" set when I load 1.0.0f in the CK. Supposedly this will make NPCs follow you whenever they aren't doing one of their scripted actions, and Cola might not be executing any scripted behaviors for some reason?

I'm 90% certain it's not a mod conflict. Nothing I have loaded should be touching anything remotely involved in this.

Edit: And because I wanted to do my due diligence, I removed all 6 of my non-cosmetic mods, loaded up the save from before even accepting "Let Sleeping Dogs Lie", and then completed the quest. Cola still follows me. Saved and re-loaded and this behavior persisted (just to confirm there was nothing about the loading process which 'fixes' it).

Ah that was it! Good find.
 
You can get your own Cola from the pet store! Cola herself is kind of a story character, that is used in some scenes we'll be introducing later in content updates. So consider her Old Paul's pet.

pet store! wow i cant wait to unlock that, thanks for everything you do kinggath this mod is mind blowing, that you managed to create this on top of everything you worked on with SS1 this past year, truly amazing!!!!!
 
So i can not even get the dog to interact at all. It is still at the cabin west of Sanctuary. Nothing seems to trigger it and only dialogue option is talk which does nothing. Restarted many times changing mods i thought might conflict but no go.
