Does mod "settler and companion dialog overhaul" turn vanilla companions into custom companions?

No, they are still vanilla in most respects. Mainly just tweaks their random type voice lines, does not change the their affinity dialogue conversations or any that are quest based. They still use the vanilla companion scripts.
I'm glad to see this. Thank you for replying. Just started over (again) -- removing settler and companion dialog overhaul from my load order
(I use Wrye Smash). Game starts and loads a bit faster -- fewer scripts I guess.

Hey W_Survivor. I don't have many large texture mods. I'm running Concrete Walls with Window Glass-18360-v0-5 + NMCs Bundle HIGH-31814-1-0 (which is small compared to most others) + Natural and Atmospheric Commonwealth Patched with WET. The last two are prolly the real resource hogs of this list.

I agree with you. Your advice about large graphic mods is always true. Your reasoning about the companion mod also makes complete sense. Happy you responded. Thank you! My experience, however, on my current playthru - having removed only the companion mod - is my FO4 game runs smoother. And several glitches in the SS2 main storyline did not occur. Very puzzling. Happy saving the Commonwealth!

<commentary> For now, I'll save that companion mod mod for a non SS2 playthru with the tree mod I love - and a bit better scenery. Nothing better - after a hard day of killing raiders and what not - than ascending the high scaffold. Sitting, watching the sun rise / set. Enjoying a well warned Murk-burger. With my companion, after helping their quests. <commentary/>

Reloaded above mod. Seems like glitch may be related to my misunderstanding of foundation plots. I thought one places foundation AND then the house / ag/ etc on top of it. Ended up with two plots on same space. Cause of glitch? Sincde I reloaded above mod, now I glitch the Hub quest. Didn't happen without companion mod. I'm very lost on how...
