Do body replacers (cbbe, evb, jb) impact game performance?

I would assume so because of the extra polygons but the MAs claim they do not. Can anyone confirm or point me to a non-biased opinion?

I use cbbe and i've never once actually noticed any sort of impact on my game. It could depend on your rig and how many mods you run.

I run 175 mods currently and the only time i notice any kind of performance hit is either in the HQ with around 56 npcs or if a settlement like sanctuary or starlight is full of npcs (and buildings) but i think that might be more due to SS2 than cbbe. I think that would still happen with vanilla settlers.

So, while yes it would be more polygons, i'd still say no noticeable impact from cbbe.

Also, script heavy mods like You And What Army if you have it on heavy or FCOM if you run a lot of squads or just script mods in general will have a much more noticeable hit.

A PC that's beige in colour could also be a problem performance wise.

???????? I don't get the joke, I guess. I think every computer I built was beige except for the last 2. (don't get me started on the stupid amounts of rgb bling available nowdays...)

As for the OP, I don't think mesh / texture replacers would affect performance too much with today's graphics cards. The limitation seems to be more on the number of objects the engine can draw before it ctds. The script engine on the other hand has no real way to improve performance. It gets 1.2ms * fps per second to execute scripts period, and no hardware would change that.

Jokes are ruined when you explain them but ok here you go. If your PC is "old" it might not work so well.

My first PC that I ever bought with my own money was a Gateway with a 486, 64Mb RAM, a 4Gb HDD, a 4x CD-Rom, and a dial-up modem. 2 year and a bunch of upgrades later I'd put almost $2500 into that piece of junk. At one point it had a 48x single laser CD drive that sounded like a swarm of bumblebees.

You can imagine the Computers we learned off of at the university (I was 13 at the time taking computers)
...in 1983. Yikes.

lol my dial up modem made the ding ding ping sounds and it took 30 mins to load a single web page.

Sorry for the off topic :ty2

I have a 14 year old and a 21 year old. You don't know my pain.

EDIT: But im supposed to know that clothes are now called drip!?

Nothing is worse than new slang. In 20 years your kids will be complaining that clothes are called "polyscales" or some BS. I still say threads, and I may be the only one left.

Remember "on fleek"? I'm kinda glad that one didn't stick around long, but it was good for a lot of laughs.

Mine was an apple //+

It's funny how some slang terms just never leave you.
Hell, kinggath during the last livestream's Q&A section described someone's life as "getting flip turned upside down" and I'm not sure he even consciously realised he said it until the words were out of his mouth.

My first day here I corrected a kg post where he said gambit but meant gamut. Now I realize he does stuff like that so often it would be a futile effort, so I just kick back and enjoy his little snafus like I'm sitting on the beach watching a kayaker get harassed by dolphins.

It's an "older meme" (in internet terms) not a verbal stumble, he followed up with a reference to the next line and everything.

I'm a little offended that you think every single member of my peer group doesn't know the words to the Fresh Prince theme song. I even know the elusive middle verse that was only used during season 2 (or 3).

I am having the worst run of making incorrect assumptions about people like that lately. I need to recalibrate or something.

Yep that one did a tour of my house but it disappeared at some point. Whew!

I dunno the 14 year old son who plays football has just as much goofy slang as my older than him daughter and that scares me.

It's not just nouns. I grew up with the phrase "by accident." Now it's "on accident."

I think that one changes by region. Like in most of the country soda is soda, but in the Great Lakes area it’s pop, and in the south all forms of soda are referred to as coke. So if you ask a nashville waitress for a coke and she says “what kind?” shes asking if you want coke or Dr Pepper or sprite or whatever.

“I’m done with this” has been replaced with “I’m over this” which is supposed to mean something doesn’t bother you anymore, the opposite of how it’s being used today. That one irritates the piss outta me.

In my day job I am a high school janitor, at the school I attended myself 20+ years ago. It is fun to have the kids try to insult me, mate I went to school with your Dad and he was just as bad at insults.

Never mind that I am holding back that I could say "I banged ur mom" to a couple of the students there AND HAVE IT BE TRUE
