Crashing Xbox series x (possible SS2 cause)

So I started a new save for the next gen version (on Xbox series x) and only used ROTC on a few settlements (I had a couple armour mods and a few small quests also). When I was about to start the mechanist boss fight the game went to around 20fps and eventually started freezing up so I closed the game and reopened now my save won’t load (crashes game every time). Could this be due to ROTC or is this something that was caused by the next gen update? I don’t wanna start another SS2 save or even another save at all until I get to the bottom of what caused this as I don’t want to lose any more time. I have never had any issues using any mods or vanilla fallout 4 before the next gen update so I’m super lost rn lmao.

I have also experienced a rise in crashes since the update. I have a fresh start going with only SS2 and workbench. Unsure what is the cause or how to fix. Only advice for xbox is to save often. The crashes and freezes occur during fast travel as well.

We need a fix for this, never had an issue before the update now I can’t even go to sanctuary with ROTC city plan without a crash‍

I'm at the point now where after unlocking recreational plots I have home screen crashes to the point it's unplayable.

This forum is for the old SS and its ROTC (not SS2). But people were reporting their xbox games got more unstable after FO4 updates.
