Question Crash near Jamaica plain during a blast from the past mission

My game keeps crashing when I get near Jamaica plain wh n I'm trying to do the quest a blast from the past. I have it prebuilt with conqueror and I have the city plan pack contest for it. I'm on Xbox one s. Is there anything I can do to fix this or do I need to restart and have it not build if it has something to do with it being built

You can try getting as close as you can to the settlement and using the holotape's tool section to remote destroy Jamaica Plain. Once you start that process, wait about 15 minutes and try approaching again to see if it still crashes.

Well, as I said in my post - https://www.simsettlements.com/site/index.php?threads/crash-when-i-get-near-jamaica-plains.10057/ - I fixed it by downgrading to the previous version. But I'll rewind a little and try your suggestion. I'll obliterate Jamaica Plains via holotape, wait 15 min, pop off to Diamond City, hard save, quit, upgrade to 4.0.8, and reload and report back the results.

Update: Success. Once I did the above I can get into Jamaica Plains with out it crashing to desktop on version 4.0.8. So what ever is in the default settlement broke in 4.0.8 but was fine in 4.0.7a. O.o Weird. Anyway...

Which tool option is it? Remote detonate does nothing for me, local and the other one dont work unless im very close and it always crashes first

Uh, well, I was still running 4.0.7A so I was able to enter Jamaica Plains and do a local detonation, waited 15 min like KingGath suggested, then I left to Diamond City, saved, quit, upgraded to 4.0.8, restarted the game, and fast traveled to Jamaica Plains and no crash.

if i read this correctly, a proposed solution is to get near to the settlement that causes the crash, and nuke it.
in my game, i have an unmodified red rocket, absolutely nothing there, if i approach it - i get a ctd. how do i nuke something that has not been modified in any way, shape or form?
this is a puzzle, for sure, but the root cause is in the code for 4.0.8 of simsettlements. if you update to a new patch then it is a reasonable assumption to think that as part of the update, you don't have to nuke the world - you may as well say update and start a new game cos your current one is toast.

just to try and complete all the posts i have made on the forums, this is what i did this morning, after the bug was identified by Kinggath and the team;

hi,

so i went to sanctuary, removed the level 3 general store, created a new general store with a different model, saved and exited.
i then reloaded 4.0.8 simsettlements 3-in-1, so i am now running both simsettlements and conqueror at the same code level.
i started the game, spawned into sanctuary - everything is 100% as it should be.

truly great job zeroing in and finding what i can only assume is an extremely oboscure bug in that model, and that in turn, explains why this is difficult to replicate because it totally depended on the presence of this model being in the settlement.

i continued my verification, and travelled to drumlin diner, then walked back to abernathy, then walked to red rocket - game is 100% stable. i went from red rocket down to the museum and then to the car park at the back of concorde where you can get random encounters, walked to the quarry where you drain it and fight mirelurks - walked up to the robot junk yard and back to sanctuary - no issues at all.

seriously good job to everyone who contributed to tracking down this one.

that's what i did. i rolled back, destroyed the plot and created another general store from another model, then saved, reloaded 4.0.8 and started the game - previously i would ctd instantly - not after deleting that specific plot.

Sorry for being dumb but is downgrading to a previous version the only way to get rid of that plot that is causing the CTD? and if so, when I do, how would I approach the settlement to nuke it anyway? Remote Detonation don't seem to do anything for me, I press it and nothing happens.

If you downgrade you will be able to walk right into the settlement and scrap the plot and replace it with something else.
If remote is not working there's no other way.

Thanks, which plot is it exactly?

edit: Downgrading didnt really fix it for me, I still crash near jamaica plain, before it fully renders the game just CTD, something it tries to load probably, tried on 4.0.7b and 4.0.7 , no dice.

hmmm
You have something else going on.
If you don't have this added to your Fallout4Custon.ini then do so.

[Papyrus]
fUpdateBudgetMS=2.4
fExtraTaskletBudgetMS=2.4
iMinMemoryPageSize=256
iMaxMemoryPageSize=1024
iMaxAllocatedMemoryBytes=307200

If you still can't go to the settlement after this, install ASM by @pra https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/30500
You can remote destruct the settlement from a terminal elsewhere with this, if you haven't claimed Jamaica Plain yet, there's an option to allow you to configure non-owned settlements.

The plot is Caps General, it's internal.

Nope I think what the issue is now, I forgot to downgrade Sim Settlements to 4.0.7, I only downgraded Conqueror.. im tying now with SS and Workshop Framework downgrade as well, either way, thanks for the link to that tool, it wil come in handy

Edit: which version of Workshop Framework should i use or can I keep newest?

Edit 2: yes seems to be fixed now with SS and Conqueror to 4.0.7

4.0.7B should be same for Conqueror and 1.1.4C of WF since it didn't update on the last update round.
