Question Conqueror is conquering me!

Hi All
Been enjoying this mod since it came out, Kingath has done wonders with this game, however, I am struggling with conqueror. I am having various difficulties making conqueror settlements work alongside taking over other settlements via the workbench/ city plan in the usual way, I wanted to loosely follow Kingaths playthrough and set up a traditional city plan at Sanctuary and then conquer from there using starlight as my conqueror base. I am having issues with the following:

- I cannot send settlers that I find in the wasteland (settlers of the commonwealth and other settler mods) to any of the conquered settlements, only sanctuary?

- I have built up sanctuary as a non raider, non city plan settlement using plots etc, Preston and the others alive, it was thriving with 20+ settlers, I conquered starlight, set up my conqueror war table there and then conquered red rocket (outpost) and Abernathy (farm). I went to conquer tenpines with 13 guys (all i had) and kept failing as there were too many gunners as the settlement was already built up. After several tries i gave up, went back to Sanctuary and the defences opened up on me as soon as i got over the bridge!

So my questions are these...

1. can you mix conqueror and non conqueror settlements on the same playthrough?
2. If you can, why is sanctuary attacking me?
3. Why can't i send settlers to red rocket or abarnathy
4. I play on survival - I cannot conquer tenpines, there are at least 20 gunners, settlers, gun runners? all spamming grenades and most have OP lasers, I have gunner overhaul installed - is it this mod that is making it way too difficult or am I just crap!
5. I now have hostile settlers at sanctuary and no raiders left to make any more attacks on settlements, is there a way I can turn this around without starting a new save?
6. If I do start a new save, how do I avoid getting into this mess again?

I have a lot of mods installed but I suspect this is conqueror mechanics, not mods, I could also be wrong thouth, any help appreciated....
 
The duality of Man.
You are either a raider or you're not.........

1. Yes you can
2. If you are a raider you are hostile to the MM, Preston etc are MM.
3. You cannot send settlers to outposts/vassals unless you slap a shock collar on 'em and enslave them.
4. Sorry but, Git Gud!! Go back when you are able to take the fight. If the gunner mod makes them stronger then sure it's going to make it more difficult. 20 gunners is normal during a raid.
5. You absolutely can turn it around, you need to recruit more raiders. Do this by giving Jammer chems/booze/caps or by making sure your current outposts have spare beds, needs are met and they are happy.
6. If you do, and you don't need to. Pick a side and stick to it.

Couple of things to add:
Never take all your crew on a raid, if you are getting wiped easily with 5 crew any extra will just be cannon fodder. Taking over settlements is supposed to be difficult, just look at how much KG dies in his playthrough.

There are 3 plots which you can add to your outposts that will toughen up your raiders, plus give them better armour: Field hospital and Armoury which are both Martial plots. Mess hall which is a recreational plot. They will also contribute to overall outpost happiness.

The reason why KG is using sanctuary as a normal settlement is that he did not bring Preston and the rest of the whingers there.

These are especially key, as are leveling up the raiders too. Mess Hall for instance can give buffs like increased HP. Field Hospital can give a chance of saving the recruits. Armory helps give proper gear rather than just pipe pistols. Also the [Spoilers related to the new patch] are going to be a big thing when more are added.

With the new mechanics it's expected that we use them to the fullest. On that note I do wonder if their benefits can be stacked if I build multiple Field Hospital/Mess Hall/Armory?

True. I also wonder if these plots can affect defenders, if somehow they had Field Hospital/Mess Hall/Armory like say if a City Plan had them as Designer's Choice. I was thinking about the city plan contest and I figure I am likely to use them since they are awesome and are vital for Conqueror, so they're basically permanent mainstays in all my settlements. I wonder what happens if Field Hospital saves a defender when I'm raiding the settlement
