I noticed a bug with my tracking quest after installing the latest beta (3.10a) although I can't be sure the update is the cause...

My quest will put down markers for plots that have been built/upgraded with the new construction (since last visit) but not clearing them after I visit. My map is getting seriously messy now round all my settlements....

Did you try a refresh of the settlement? Did this clear the tracking markers?

Yep, tried individual refreshes and a settlement refresh but no joy. It's not just one settlement. It is, I think, all of them (a couple are sitting there at full population for my charisma and lvl 3 plots). That save has been through a few versions of SS and I had to use fallrim's tools at one point because of that maintenance cost loop. So I wonder if it's a borked save more than anything else.

I'm going to start a fresh game on the newest version and I'll see if it recurrs. Apart from anything else the ROTC settlements have me embarassed at the garbage i've built, so i'm going to have another go by stealing a few of their ideas for my self built efforts 8)

So. I started up a new game and am having the same problem.

I popped some SS plots into Sanctuary and they built up. There's 5 residential plots, 1 martial, 2 industrial and some horizon crops being farmed with a recruitment beacon, a turret and a wind generator. The City tracking quest is stuck with construction since last visit notifications on all the plots apart from two of the residential plots, which were, incidentally, not the first ones built and completed 4th and 5th and one industrial plot (the last one finished). I think the 3 that have not got permanent markers might have completed while I was present in sanctuary.

I've tried refreshing local plots from the console and tried refreshing them individually. I've fast travelled in and out, walked in and out and fast travelled then walked and vice versa. I've also tried going into the root cellar in sanctuary and the museum in concord. I've slept in sanctuary and slept elsewhere/ The markers are still all showing.

if I pop sqt into the console it lists the kgSIM_Messagemanager quest and says there is 1 target, then lists 6 different targets underneath.

After time spent sleeping and running around to test 4 plots completed in red rocket of which 3 are permanently marked and one (an agricultural internal plot) completed while I was at red rocket and 1 plot completed at starlight drive in and is permanently marked.

sqt now says the quest has 1 targets and then lists 9 targets underneath.

As far as I can tell the quest won't mark a plot if I am present when it completes being built (no plots are above lvl 1 to comment on upgrades) but for every other plot it will mark it then never unmark it.

I looked at the papyrus log and theres a hell of a lot of simsettlements:simplot.ClearConflictingPlotOwnership going on after instances of
"workshopnpcscript.assigned.OnCommandModeGiveCommand() - "C:\Users\Dr. Peter Haas\AppData\Local\Temp\PapyrusTemp\workshopnpcscript.psc" Line ?
[01/23/2018 - 11:04:31PM] warning: Assigning None to a non-object variable named "::temp708"

but tbh I have no idea if that's relevant at all or what I should be looking for in a massive great papyrus log where I didn't crash...

I noticed another issue i'm having on top of the quest leaving markers on all the completed plots which is that plot costs ( - power/defence/water etc) are not being charged. I think it's Horizon causing the problem. I disabled horizon then sat on a chair and waited for some plots to complete. The new agricultural plot charged water as expected, although the old plots didn't start charging for water etc and the markers that had been stuck didn't clear.

It's like Horizon is stopping the last part of a plot completing from happening (or something like that) so i'm not being charged costs or clearing them off the tracking quest BUT the ongoing benefits of the plots (tax/income/food/water etc) are all present.

I'm having the issue with New Construction tags not clearing also. It's not occurring in all settlements and it is happening in both rotc built and self built settlements. I'm not sure if I have the problem with the plot stats, I'll check that. Tried everything to clear em, stay in settlement and sleep, leave settlement, fast travel, view plot, view plaque, jump up and down on plot, nothing clearing em. I dont use horizon.

Does the problems persist with the 3.1.1 patch installed? If you're using a modmanager, please verify that the files actually have been updated. (See pic. The "Date modified" date&time should be from when you installed the patch.)

To bad. I'll let Kinggath know so that he will look into this.

The more info you can give us helps a lot when trouble shooting.

I thought it started with 3.1.1, but it could have started a day or 2 before and I just didnt notice till I had big blobs of the tags on the map.

I went from 3.0.3b to 3.1.1. No problems with 3.0.3b but this problem started for me with the install of 3.1.1. I have close to 60 markers and growing. :(

My latest game, on which I have the problem, started fresh with sim settlements 3.1.1 (also Horizon 1.48 and a bunch of primarily cosmetic mods that were all there, at the same versions, last time I didn't have the problem.).
I never had the problem prior to 3.10 as far as I noticed at least.

I'm not sure if sim settlement plots not charging me for the power/food/water/defence costs started prior to having 3.1.1 and horizon 1.48 though. When I upgraded to 3.10 it was a fari way into a game with a bunch of settlements and it was only when I restarted and had small settlements that I noticed I wasn't needing to increase my water output as farms completed that I noticed.

I'm pretty sure the second part is down to Horizon though, because, as I stated above, after I removed it and waited out a few plots fini9shing I was being charged water as expected. The markers though didn't clear up after nuking Horizon to test it.

One other thing of note is, if I change to tracking recently completed(in the last hour) and remove completed since last visit in the tracking option in the holotape that seems to function as expected. with markers going away after (presumably) an hour.

Are the other ppl having the problem also using Horizon out of interest?

[SNIP...]

I am not using Horizon. I'll change my options and see if that works for me as well. Like the other options better but if it at least clears them up....

I'm also having the issue with New Construction tags not clearing. I'm up to date with the latest versions of Sim Settlements and RotC as of 1/27/18. I don't know what Horizon is, so I'm reasonably certain I'm not using it.

For any other new users finding these tags a problem, you can turn them off under Tools. Not the settings / notifications sections. Toggles for the different quest markers are under Tools.

I started seeing this issue with the 3.1.0a beta. A few of us have mentioned this in the Patch 3.1.1 thread as well.

I happens to all settlements. Refreshing, fast travelling, reloading ... none of these clear the flags.

I did see someone at one point requested if an option can be added to the Tools to manually force a clear of all new construction and upgrade flags. I forget where I saw that request, originally, but I rather like that idea.

Same issue

I did a resetquest/startquest on kgSIM_MessageManager, that cleared it, but now it's populating again, obviously

There might be a less nuke-from-orbit approach by just clearing the aliases, but I can't recall the commands
