City Leaders and lots of ASAMs

Hey all,

I'm a few hours into my first ever Sim Settlements game, and I have one question: I don't enjoy building settlements myself, I much rather have a City Leader do it for me. Assigning a City Leader and have them take control requires 20 ASAMs though, right? And I'm far from having enough to even assign my first few settlements - Abernathy, Sunshine Tidings, Starlight Drive-In - to a leader. The main quest just sent me to West Everett. So here's the thing: Is it unrealistic to expect to have ~100 ASAMs soon to start the automated building of the Commonwealth or will that work out as I want it to?

A possible solution of course would be to just console-cheat the ASAMs in - is that a terrible idea?

Thanks!

Ah, sorry, one more thing: Any reason I can't assign Blake Abernathy as a City Leader? In an older save, I could just select him and "move" him to the City Planner's Desk and then I got the option to tear everything down. That doesn't happen in my current save. Why?

The only person I can select from the "Manage City" menu is Piper.

I think you would need the mod that adds the local settlers as the mayors (won't work with SS2) when the author updates to support SS2. You can assign Blake if you go into workshop mode and assign him to the desk to lead.

In SS2 you can take any settler and stick them in charge, it will prompt you do you wish to build the settlement and if you have the Asam's it will build. There is no more need to have special leaders.

In a few more quests you should gain the ability to make ASAMs
Even with the ability to make ASAMs the material requirements will keep you from making 100s of them. It might be worth it to spawn in the ASAMs, needed materials or items Sickle is after to get the numbers necessary for your style of play.

Coming up with ASAMs is a PiTA when you just want to build. :T

I've assigned Blake Abernathy fine there's no requirements in ss2 to make a settler a city leader.
Doesn't work for me.

Actually, no leader works for me. Even if I select my companions - Piper, Codsworth, Curie - as a leader, the game prompts me correctly with the question "tear it all down" and when I say yes, and also have the necessary 20 ASAMs in my inventory, the music plays and I get so see the aerial view of the settlement, yet nothing happens. A few things are being teared down it seems, but nothing is being built.

Everything else works beautifully. The main quests is flawless, side quests with Old Paul work as well. Any idea why the whole City Leader concept doesn't work for me?

I guess I figured it out. Just for the record: I followed the installation instructions religiously this time and put even the smallest of cosmetic mods underneath SS2. And that seemed to have solved it all. Yay!

Great mod, btw. Fantastic story line. I'm deeply impressed.

Be careful when you toss all your junk into the workbench, as the ASAMs are considered "junk". Once you toss it all in, be sure to fish out those ASAMs! (Also, on an earlier playthrough, I cheated in a whompload of chalk, and got a bunch of ASAMs from Sickle.
