Suggestion Change to the Preconquered Guards Sniping/Attacks and Assaults

After successfully sniping/attacking the guards and conducting a vassal assault at Nordhagen, suggest:
  1. The Work Bench does not allied with the player after the player is successful at sniping/attacking the guards. Instead a message appears that, using Nordhagen, Gunner reinforcements are arriving in 6 hours (or some reasonable number +/- some changing percentage that the player does not know) and a countdown timer starts.
  2. If you can get/bring more of your warriors to Nordhagen before the timer reaches "0" you can be on defense, if not, a vassal assault is required.
Thanks again for all your hard work.

PS: Anything to help scripts overload:good

I presume part of the reason it's like this is in case the factions pre-occupy something you didn't mean them to. IE I started my BOS run and they were occupying sanctuary even though I didn't have that prebuilt AND I was damn sure I had sanctuary unselected for preconquest.

But then again, that's what Workshop Framework is for.

That has not happened to me. A surprise no doubt.

So if preconquered, you can kill them, then use workshop framework to "claim the settlement" instead of finding warriors for a defense?

I was unsure and along with Sanctuary, I also use Ragoda Vault 111... had raiders on me as soon as I got out of the vault and poor codsworth was down for the count. I have that save but was unsure how to get it as a basic settlement as way early in game and hadn't met jammer yet...

Also while we're at it, it should work this way if you launch a raid against a settlement you already own (either to make it a vassal or an outpost).

IE: If you're playing BOS Liberator and you hand-make Nordhagen and then you decide to vassal it, instead of some random group taking over the split second you turn your back, your troops move in and then a defense mission starts.

I agree with this plus the following long-winded addition. At this time, most of my vassal assaults are a success with very few losses and generally few problems requiring reload/replay. I have kept my losses down due to bringing 15 warriors and myself plus manually upgrading warrior armor and weapons. Danse is always left somewhere out-of-sight. Several of the problems I have observed during guard sniping/attacking and vassal assault is the result of complex city plans plus related bugs, see https://simsettlements.com/site/ind...a-of-a-conqueror-bos-liberator-updated.11911/ for more long-wind. For example:
  1. At Greentop, sniped/attacked Gunner guards with Danse and encountered a problem due to the prebuilt. Entering the house, it was full of dirt which prevented me from reaching the last guard. Used the "kah" console command and allied with Greentop, and then disabled the dirt using the console command.
  2. At Taffington, none of my warriors appeared to be able to go thru the front gate, so I had to sneak around to the flank.
  3. At Abernathy, Danse can not enter the settlement and stops about 20 feet outside the gate.
So what additional suggestions, does this lead to:
  1. In future games, I am inclined to limit prebuilt settlements to Level 1
  2. For defensive battles the attackers should come in multiple waves and reflect the defenders and settlement defense rating.. In my game 4 at the Castle, while an interesting battle, it was not much of a challenge - 15 Gunners with some Legendarys against 20 BoS with upgraded armor and weapons, me and Danse, and probably a 165 defense Castle.
Besides, I try to increase the script overload wherever possible.:pilot

Try playing with Better Locational Damage and Weaponsmith. People tend to die pretty damn quickly with that combination. Anything above 5.56mm tends to chew through (non-powered) armor like paper.

Thanks - after the problems I had with mod conflicts in my game 4, I am hesitant to add new mods without a recommendation.

PS: I am using Weapons Balance Overhaul
