If this has been asked before I apologize I don't have the time to comb through 54 pages of posts. If someone knows ware a post is that this is answered or have the answer that would be great. I'm having trouble being on top of soldier needs and can't get enough resources to recruit to take take vassles so I can spent time raiding rather than trying to keep up. It suppose to be hands off but mine isn't and can't figure out what I'm doing wrong. So far I have sanctuary as my only outpost and have 3 vassles. I was good with two then took one more then ever since then food has been a major struggle. I enslaved a few people for farming to make it up but wasn't enough so I removed some other plots and built farm plots and assigned raiders to farming and now my control is low. I'm stumped and not sure how to fix this. The only thing I can think of to fix this is to only assighn slaves to farming and all others to raiding more vassles and hope I can have enough to recruit more raiders at that point. The help would be greatly appreciated.

I think I found a bug, I'm not sure. Now I have more vassles 1 armory and like 15 farm plots my outpost. I got my food to a sliver left to full then is stops. My caps and equipment just keeps going up, up and up with more vassles and farm plots I build but my food stays at that sliver left.

Hello,

I am having the exact same problem with the rations. I loaded my game to get the numbers at two different points four hours apart to compare. In my farthest save where I have literally hit a wall and I am unable to field a raiding force I have four vassals and these are their ration reports:

Tenpine Buff

90 Rations with 9 civilians for a net export of 0

Abernathy Farm

330 Rations with 14 civilians for a net export of 180

Starlight Drive-In

0 Rations with 15 civilians for a net import of 150

Sunshine Tiding Co-op

110 Rations with 15 civilians for a net import of 40

So on this save file (which excludes the guards that are posted to maintain control) my vassals actually have an import of rations away from my main base. Now if I post the minimum of one guard at each site and with Jammer (or whatever the main raider guy name is) that is my entire ration production without any warriors. The same save file 4 hours earlier looks like this:

Tenpine Buff

70 Rations with 9 civilians for a net import of 20

Abernathy Farm

330 Rations with 14 civilians for a net export of 180

Starlight Drive-In

0 Rations with 15 civilians for a net import of 150

Here it is only marginally better without Sunshine Tiding with an export of 10 rations. Now in my main base I have slaves and farms, but from what the game tells me both of the 3x3 and 2x2 agriculture plot only gives me 20 more rations each at level one. So mathematically speaking if we use the numbers presented to us in the wiki where a slave reduces control by 20, and a guard increases it by 50 that makes the net profit of a slave farm 15 rations and a guard 37.5 rations. So theoretically you could field two guards controlling five slaves with farms to net you just above seven more warriors.

Unfortunately for my save file Red Rocket gas stop does not have room for five slave farms amongst the armory and barracks I already have there. Also the note on residential plots, I have zero, and I just built a barracks from bunk beds.
