Branching building level ups

So, back in SS1 some buildings would branch into different building paths. Is that still a thing in SS2? Nothing i've seen so far indicates that is the case

You define multiple building level plans to the building plan for each level. So a level 2 building plan could branch into multiple level plans and those could then branch into multiple level plans. Theoretically, you could assign existing level plans to a building plan, branching or not. So you could have an industrial building plan that branched into all 4 material types for L2 and L3 using the level plans for those plots.

The branching building plans from SS1 were pretty complicated to set up, I think only Industrial Revolution and a handful of addon packs ever used them. Building plan skins (which kind of replace the branching system) and the SS2 unlock system can be used for the same functionality but is much easier to use. For SS2, I converted all our branching plans to skins instead, and all of the Ind Rev plans were setup as regular 3-level plans and entered into the Settler Discovery system.

You can definitely make building plan skins for any available building plans, in SS2 or addons, for just one or all levels, and even make them give different bonuses/maluses. And I think you can set them to unlock after a certain building plan has been built.

EDIT: skins would still need to be the same type of plot, so that might put a wrench in your plans.

Ahh!! Yes this is more in line for what I want. Your the best. For the record, I'm trying to mix in some Mutant Menagerie plots
