Blue Men outside of workshop mode

Hi all! I was just wondering if people had a solution to seeing blue men and light emitters, etc, out of workshop mode?

I went to another settlement and tested it and the blue men are only visible in ws mode.

Is it something to do with Transfer Settlements? I think they only did it after I made a blueprint.

Thank you in advance!

You may have to toggle WS mode on and off a few times in the Visual section of the holotape in gameplay (I think)
seems to fix it for me :)

I am the worst.

I went into ws mode, grabbed a few, exited ws mode and they all vanished.. >_>

I have to stop panicking and running here for help IMMEDIATELY! LOL

hehe no worries :)
we are here to help

:jester its happened to me as well

I would first guess the TSExport command may cause this, if you did save after running the command that markers like blue men would be always visible. If yes I am slightly curious if anything else happens. For me I purposely didn't write that command down elsewhere, I opened the city planner PDF so I see the note every time about not saving after running the command otherwise I'd forget. There are quite a few commands that need to be used when doing city plan so I felt it was something that would be easy to forget.

Rather than making a new thread about blue men, I'm going to hijack this one. :p
My blue man's aren't showing up in Workshop Mode after I place them. Poof.
I tweaking the settings to show all markers while in WS mode but to no avail. I mean, I've seen the Blue Man Group in concert... are the lil bastards jealous? Angry?
Appeasement tips are appreciated.
And thanks in advance for tolerating my newbie newb newness. Mayhaps one day I may actually answer a question or two.

Try toggle the WS mode a few times and see wat happens.
Save and reload may help.

My blue mans appeareth!
I placed a blue man and it went poof. Then I exited and re-entered Workshop mode and there he was in all his monochrome glory.
Danke!

Nice, perhaps it only required a bit of time for the scripts to do their magic?

@VersusXV exiting and re-entering the workshop mode works every time. I'm not sure if my system is unique (re: slow) or if this is working as intended. But it works so I'm gonna put on my proverbial gloves and hard hat and get back to work. :)

What are your specs if I might ask? I find it interesting to view specs to see how each PC handles the usage case of Fallout 4 on PC running Sim Settlements. Seeing where bottlenecks lie on different PCs can be informative for how it works.

For instance, when hearing a lot about shadows I ended up usually not using them or only few of them in my Sim Settlements plots. I think I used to have many lights & I dialed it back now.

My system specs are:
AMD Ryzen 5 1600X Six-Core processor 3.60 GHz
16 GB Ram
Video: AMD Radeon HD 7900 Series

Full disclosure: I used to be an enthusiastic hardware monkey... about 15 years ago. Those days are behind me. I had this custom built and not entirely sure I didn't get ripped off a bit.

Well the 1600X was the 2017 model, so if you bought it then you got a good deal. The problem is the video card is a little low, but cyptro miners had bought up all the video cards in the summer of 2017 so all the new card options sucked then.

I threw together a new PC this July to replace my 2012 intel i7. It is a Ryzen 7 and a RX580. There isn't anything wrong with saving money if all you are doing is driving a 1920x1080 monitor.

That's still a nice machine.

Anyhow, there seems to be a "bug" with current SS. When you first place blue men, they vanish, and workshop mode needs to be toggled on and off to see them,

I had a similar problem with the workshop plus mod. I turned off the auto unhide layers in MCM and it went away. I just tried to recreate it in my game and I could not. I am using version 1.0.1a you might see if you are using that mod, and that it is up to date. There is also a new version of the Workshop Framework that might have helped.
