Assingning Children? 2.0.6

With the new 2.0.6 patch, are you supposed to be able to assign children to plots as is, or do you need a 3rd party mod to be able to interact with the children?

From the wiki
"Child settlers can now own Residential and Agricultural plots. Due to lack of animations available to the child settlers, they may never actually animate to the plot or use the objects on them. Additional plot types may be made available to them in the future if I find someone to provide more animation support for them (send me your animator friends!)."

do you have orphans of the commonwealth or other child mod?

Have no children mods as I normaly just ignore them, but if I can put the few that are in vanilla settlements to work, why not. And it annoys me when the bars arn't filled :p

Now when I mouse over children in a settlement the only option is esc, as it allways have been. So again, the question is, is it something that ss supports, or is it just an option if you use another mod that lets you interact with children in the build menu.

If I have to install another modd that adds even more kids I will skip it and keep ignoring the few there is. Dont need any more than there allready are.

they should auto assign to homes and farms
one of the kids I had in sanctuary assign himself to one of B84s themed plots lol the serial killers house so that was kinda funny

you can try manual assignment ,see if that works for you . get there greedy little hands digging in that dirt

Unique NPCs also adds children (it has orphans of the commonwealth included within the mod)

Until something gets sorted what i do with any child settlers that spawn is assign a bed that i put somewhere out of the way and give them a gun and send them out into the world as a provisioner (they can be assigned to that) man up kiddo......lol
As for the vanila kids i just make sure i dont delete the crops they are tending when i arrive at a settlement, or their beds and move said items where they are not in the way.

Most of the children in the vanilla game aren't commandable - for those, you'll have to continue providing vanilla beds. Sim Settlements avoids assigning NPCs that aren't commandable as that's usually a sign they have a special purpose.

ah so vanilla kids are lazy bastards :( :blum

I downloaded the newest version of Sim Settlements and Industrial Revolution. I still cannot assign children to residential plots. Any ideas?

do you have the child mods?
vanilla kids don't like taking orders

The pop-up message says that I cannot assign children to the plot. I have a mod that adds child settlers, using the cloning gun.

would they still be counted as vanilla kids though?

They are listed as settlers. I can trade with them, assign them to farm plants, etc. How would I tell if they are "vanilla kids"?

vanilla kids are just the kids that have always been there I guess
like the kids at Somerville and warwick
but I'm no expert at this

pity it cant work on supermutants lol

There are 4 "vanilla kids", 2 at somerville, 1 at warwick and 1 at nordhagen, atleast thats the ones I can remember.

and diamond city to lot of the little buggers there
