Works as intended Assignment causing incorrect bed count

Related to a help topic I raised regarding bed counts https://simsettlements.com/site/index.php?threads/bed-problem-related-to-mega-pack.5013/

I've managed to recreate a way of causing the bed count to be incorrect.
  • Create a Residential Plot (I used the standard plot and placed it on top of a Shack Foundation).
  • Wait for a settler to assign themselves to the plot and build it (During this process you will see the current bed count change : +1, +2, +0, +1)
  • Find another settler, select them in workshop mode and then Assign them to the plot (I'm not yet sure if this needs to be a settler yet to be assigned to a plot)
  • The bed count will add one to the current number of beds so you now have two more than the original count before you built the plot
I have only tried this on Xbox One X so far and I only have one save so not been able to try it in a fresh playthrough. I have tried it with one of the original plots from Sim Settlements rather than from an add-on or megapack and still get the same issue. A plot refresh will resolve the bed count.

I may see if I can recreate this on PC and will update if I do.

I've been playing around with this and now I'm wondering if it's to do with building multiple plots at the same time.

I set out a large foundation and placed three plots on it. Settlers automatically assigned themselves to the plots but there was one too many beds at the end. When I waited for each to complete, the bed count was correct.

In my original report, it's possible that I was always trying it with multiple plots. It's difficult to be 100% sure but I'll keep updating as I discover new patterns.

I would say it is associated with several plots being built at the same time. Just as the residential plot switches to the final phase of building the bed count drops one, in a few seconds when the plot completes it goes back up by one. If you have several plots being built this could go up or down by as many plots as you are building. Since this is an issue on Xbox I would guess the timing would be different then what I have found. Also I would assume your scripts hang out there much longer. After everything is stable I would wait a few minutes until everything stopped changing, doing a quick quest is what I would suggest. When you get back I would refresh the plots in question, definitely those with two doors. It might also be a good idea to go to Home Plate and have your character just stand there for 15-20 minutes (Do the dishes or something else during this) to let your scripts catch up just on general principle.
Thank you

Changing this thread to works as expected and moving it to Archive since OP has not posted since 3/29. If you have a similar issue please check the forums for a report that is newer. If you cannot find one please create a new thread and mark it with the Bug tag.

Thank you
