Resolved Assign Leader Loop / No City Plans / Save Game Incompatibility?

Dear all,

I apologize if I've missed something obvious, but I can't seem to find my problem mentioned anywhere.

I have with great joy played Fallout with a few mods, including Sim Settlements, Spring Cleaning, DEF_UI and HUDframework, some Better Settlers and a bit of Vivid this and that, all working as it should.

Recently, I saw a description of Rise of the Commonwealth and was enthralled! As it happens, the version of SS I was using was a v.1 something and having messed up a couple of times, now the current version of SS, RotC, DEF_UI, HUD_framework and the rest are installed and up an running as they should --- up to a point:

Everything works if I load my old pre-mod savegame -- I have all the plots, the City Manger Desk, I can assign leaders, see city plans, and get the cinematic view. Yay!

But in my "real" savegame, it seems things are broken. My old plots are there, I can build plots and the CM desk with blueprints and safe, but it's .. broken. There are no city plans available, and when I assign a leader, I'm not prompted that stuff will be torn down, but end up in a loop: Assigning a leader presents the "Settlers won't do anything unless.. Would you like to assign a leader?" dialog, where I can then choose to assign a leader, but... it loops.

I know Spring Cleaning is mentioned on the list of problematic mods, but if my problem was just a bit of floating stuff, I'd be ok.

So: Is there some way I can save my save game and progress, while still using RotC? Or did I irrevocably brake it scrapping something with Spring Cleaning? Or...?

Any help is appreciated. I would love to continue my wasteland journey with RotC.

This seems like a corrupt save file, but might also be a mod conflict. You can try for the last by making a backup of your modded save and turning off all mods except SS and add-ons. If the plans show, it's a mod conflict, on which you will need to zero in. If they don't then your save is most likely broken.

Nope, doesn't work when disabling other mods either. I went back and found the last save game from before installing Sim Settlements in the first place, and that worked. Mainly, it's laid down plots that are lost, which would go now anyway... Now RotC, yay!

Thank you for the comment, Harry. I would not have liked to go back in the game in not necessary.
