Announcement: Rise of the Commonwealth

You know I'm hyped for this expansion pack when I keep checking Fallout 4 Nexus every 30 mins, and I think "Hey, let me just update my mods to BA2 format."

And I haven't touched them since August...

I abandoned a relatively fresh playthrough and put the game on the shelf since the trailer came out, because there wasn't enough info to know if the save was worth continuing. On the plus side, might actually finish Pillars of Eternity.

I've started a new playthrough but left it on hold with the bunch from the Museum just arrived in Sanctuary. In the meantime I'm playing Crusader Kings.

I have certain settlements where I would like to have complete control, but I would love to have my settlers build on most plots.

Will I be able to turn off the "auto-build" function in certain settlements?

I also want to express my thanks to Kinggath and his band of Merry Developers. This would make an awesome game in and of itself!!

Can't wait!

9 Hours?... to finish of my modlist. :boss

Speaking of that... anyone got suggestions of modlist to go along with this new xpac ?

i got most (if not all lol) of the sim addons
a scrapper (that i might actually remove to be on the safe side).
The Push mods, for that anoying Preston (Sometimes because he's in the way, sometimes because he gets on my nerves and i just feel like seeing him thrown into a wall :) )
better settlers (unless someone has a better suggestion ? )
Fence mod

and that's about it, i tend to run it low.

Yesterday i started considering perhaps ENBoost, although i dont have any issue, i noticed some little lags sometimes (specially in sanctuary) whenever i start having too much settlements.

If your PC can handle it I'd suggest photo realistic commonwealth.
Or at the very least check out the texture packs the mod author has listed towards the bottom under "My Visual Setup"

I don't know what the expansion does specifically, so that's hard to answer for me.

I do have some other mods that I, like with Sim Settlements, will never play without.

Unofficial Patch
Survival Damage Fix
Full Dialogue Interface (Lite)
Sleep or Save

This mod is so great in VR. Can't wait for the update, I am glad I haven't done a bunch of work on any settlement other than sanctuary so I should be ok without making a new game.

Isn't 2AM GMT Friday, 8PM on Thursday for CST? or is my math backwards? My wife and I SO can not wait for this to come out today. Going to be great fun weekend!

It would be 2AM GMT Saturday the 30th for us GMT people.

But I shall stress the 'tentatively' part... please do not take this time as 'gospel.'

My joke was more to imply that "29th" release date could be at any point in an almost 48 hour range centered at midnight on the 29th at point of release.

All hail the international date line!

Please take this with some reservations because I might have misunderstood some of the info but if I have understood correctly the answer is yes.

On the flipside mods that edit settlements in such fashion that elements are added/removed from the vanilla layout might be problematic until certain tools are available.

Those starting a new playthrough that want to explore what the expansion has to offer with minimum conflicts might want to stick to mods like All Settlements Expanded that alter the borders but not the building etc.

If you'd rather use 'clean settlement mods' instead please bear in mind that more attention/troubleshooting might be required.

EDIT: to answer your original question the short answer is yes. The long answer is best if you discover it by yourself.

So am I to guess that @kinggath is married with kids? Late evening is about the time the spouse and kids are starting to go to bed and/or wind down, meaning he would finally have the time to get this released. That's part of why I like this approximate release time, because that's about when my free time starts!

"Sure, honey, go ahead and go to bed, I don't mind that it's Friday night and you're going to bed early. I've got the girls." as I'm turning on the Xbox and heading to the Mods section.

So is Gath living in the US? Europe? As an european it's almost 8pm for me. :P
Hes in the US, we still have a bit of time. Also remember the time is not firm as little things could pop up at the last minute.
