An OPTION for adding local leader perk requirements for some plots. (Not changing the default)

Is adding an optional Local Leader perk requirement for some plots a good idea?

  • Yes, I'm interested.

One of the biggest issues I have with Sim Settlements is that it feels overpowered sometimes, especially when it allows building commercial plots without any perk requirement, while their base game equivalents would require Local Leader 2.
I actually ended up getting the perk at one point because I felt guilty about it.
Here's what I'm proposing:
In addition to the option to turn off the Local Leader perk requirement for supply lines, there will be 2 more new options:
Require for plots easy, that adds a requirement of level 1 of the perk for Commercial and Advanced Industrial plots as well as the City Planners Desk.
Require for plots hard, that makes everything from easy need level 2 of the perk, and adds a level 1 requirement to the Martial, Recreational, and Industrial plots.
For the record, I am not asking to change the default settings, but I do think some people, myself included, would like this option.
Feel free to comment and answer the poll.

Honestly, this is one of the reasons I DO like sim settlements, I don't have to have yet another "Charisma + X-Build" character. For me, I feel the charisma/settlement build was becoming too necessary in F4.

Now, having said that - if it were OPTIONAL, and could be turned off - then yes, by all means.
Just because I don't want it, does not mean its not valid - it just means I don't want it.

OR - have you get some kind of bonus - more happiness, or the ratio of taxes to happiness is different with the local leader perk. i.e. the better your leader, you don't mind paying taxes as much.

I specificly said: OPTIONAL. Even the title says "An option". It seems most people who've read this don't get that, judging by the poll. I almost wrote "No, not even as an option" instead of just "No" in the poll but I didn't because I thought people would get that. Apparently I was wrong.

You are correct - I mis-read the post, my apologies (its very early here....).

My response would be sure, but I think a better poll might be "how high a priority would you rate this?" or something. For me, it would be low. For others higher.

Regardless, interesting idea.

That's kind of a tough one. If i got it correct under the current system the costs for building SS aweomeness is by it requiring some of the more expensive/rarer mats than vanilla. So we're already paying more for building/upgrading SS plots than default & if a person wants to enable it there's an optional taxes & upkeep system on turrets/generators/etc too, but you want to add required perks back in as well.

i kind of think that the current system already has enough settings to make it as tough or easy as a person desires & with the current ambitiousness of the project would rather see the team spend time on improving/stabilizing what's already there rather than add yet another feature which seems a tad redundant to me personally.

I do agree that sometimes things can be a little easy when you're trying to go for a immersive/realistic/very-hard-survival-with-maintenance-costs-ON-playthrough (lol). I find the idea interesting and would suggest having local leader lvl 2 as requirements to LVL 3 commercial (maybe industrial too?) plots.
