Amazon fishery?

Cranky cat .yeah they can be a pain to place ,you can try and build some floors onto a dock and and tehn move then out over the water then place your plot and delete the floors, I kinda assumed everyone used place anywhere. Try Amazons queens suggestion for shollow water. As others have said here if its not showing up in ASAM sensor list there is a problem on ur end , sometimes it takes a while for the list to populate, especially when you have a lot of addons. the T square is pretty much obsolete with the asam now. I will turn off place anywhere and try and find an easy way to place and make a vid.

The wharf seems to make ur settlers lazy :( but I'm looking into that hopefully I can do something. The desal plant is free floating in my game and there is always someone working on it :) always turning that bloody valve ;) As AmazonQueens says AI can be wonky:(
 
AmazonQueen unplanned settlements are the best:) that's my idea with junk town just chuck it here and there lol
 
Cranky Cat are you up to date with Sim Settlements? I jst tried on my test PC which can barely run FO4 ,I had the same problem u mentioned here the plots arnt in the list but on this PC everything is there.
 
Settler AI gets wonky when you have a lot of them

My gut wants to believe it's more than just an issue of having a lot of settlers... but I can't deny I have a lot of settlers.

I suppose I ought to try some of these out at a currently deserted spot like Sunshine Tidings and see if the inhabitants get any smarter when there's not 20 of them.

Yeah try grabbing Settlement Management Software and running the Refresh Workshop Data task, it fixed that instantly for me.

Wait until you have 30+. Somethings glitched in my game. My charisma isn't that high, I've stored the beacon in the workshop but the radio message still plays, and they keep turning up.

Oh wow, not good. I've been up to something like 34 of the buggers with 60+ plots and that's a game I just had to abandon on account of things taking forever to load when it didn't just outright freeze.

This time around I'm trying my best to keep a maximum of 25. And yeah, beacons are so buggy I abandoned them and just spawn settlers as needed with Cheat Terminal.

I think my pc almost died of fright :grin
Some of the plots looked pretty good under a roof (mainly the shops). I might try that at Hangman's Alley since I use the HA Apartments mod and that adds some pretty large rooms to it.
 
hehe if I did that it wud kkill my pc lol
I'm playing with the castle in the sky mod so I might have something for that soonish or later lol
 
Also to be fair, I note that very few settlers were in that video and those that were were mostly just standing in place. For all I know they have the AI completely toggled off just so their system doesn't implode. And I noticed a couple of folks stuck halfway through the floor. :grin Still, definitely an impressive layout!

Anyhow, update on the fishery, I built another one at a just cleared Taffington Boathouse. No luck. You can see here that Cait and the cat have no problems with it.

This time around the fishery is the one and only SS-related plot I built and there are just two official residents, the provisioner and this one who is supposed to be tending the fishery but again would rather just park her arse around on various chairs and couches in the main house. On the second floor no less!

I swear the game is fricking trolling me at sometimes. The only times she interacted with the fishery is when I was force upgrading it, she'd run down and start raking a hoe on the water/walls while it built--which I'm guessing is just because at base it's an agriculture plot and that can't be changed, but it makes them look rather insane.

But I could deal with that if I could just get her to stay. Every time the upgrade was done, she'd leave and go sit somewhere random... except for the chair on the plot, which she seemed to head towards once before turning around when she got there as if she couldn't access it.

Anyhow, one plot, two settlers (one of whom was halfway to Sanctuary on a supply run), minimal amount of extra building... so I think we can rule out the script engine getting overwhelmed as a cause.

if companions can use it I do see why settlers cant :(
I redid the nav mesh today and added some idle markers
one weas sweeping and my settler used that so hopefully I can can get an update out soon and hopefully that will fix it
But navigation can be a pain in the butt:( .

yeah they can get stuck in the floor because the plot is below the floor,hopefully my navmesh redo helps with that ,but I didn't navmesh the boat part so that may still happen there .

Just to be clear I was referring to the video you posted with that insanely huge castle! I haven't had any issues with settlers going through the floor of the fishery.

Looking forwards to the update. Fingers crossed :)

I have a pretty high-end PC so that's not the issue. I have all of the addins except for Raider Settlers and junk walls and Amazon's Fishing Wharf is the only one which doesn't show when I'd expect it to. I used the t-square because it shows every plan unconditionally. I'll reset the blueprint drawer and try the SMS holotape option and see. I did get a settler to actually walk to the level one wharf I placed off from a dock though. Everything is up to date and I generally update anything the day after it's released.
 
that's odd that its not showing up for u ,
everything is where it should be in the ck, its in the right formlist and the formlist is in my addon
Does my other farm show up in the ASAM? Car farm
 
Both of those farms were hidden until I reset the plans globally at the desk. They show up now though.
 
So I just wanted to touch base and say that with the latest update my settlers are finally finding their way inside the fishery to do their day jobs (the level 3 and 4 versions at least... didn't test 1 and 2). So far on the level 3 version the settler alternates between sweeping and drinking coffee in a corner while the level 4 version just sweeps all day, so if there are supposed to be other animations I haven't witnessed them yet... but at least they're not wandering the settlement any more!

yeah theres 4 idle markers on level 4 ,sweeping,drinking coffee,sitting on the edge of the boat and butcher. but I will check that and make sure. There are two types of idle markers , workshop and just normal idle , maybe the workshop takes over the over ones but I will check:)
