After finishing Nuka World, what's with the constant Minutemen theme?

It's literally everywhere. Prydwen, Railroad, etc.

I should try to CoC into the Institute to check there, too.

What gives?

Darn-it. 4000+hrs and you have beaten me to Nuka World. :tease

ha, so I have no idea what you are talking about. :unknw

Still, I am upset you have beaten me there :scare

I need to get my :poo: together and beat feet there.

I am actually upset with myself right now as I have owned the DLC the whole time. I think maybe why I have avoided it is I might feel like I have really and truly finished the game? :crazy

hahahaha, like that would happen :blum

I beat you to Nuka World! :lol

I still have Far Harbour and Vault Tec to do, too.:rofl

But yeah. I completed Open Season - killed off all the gangs - freed the slaves - made my Red Rocket settlement. Aaaaand I’ve got all this martial music going on. :sad It’s eveywhere.

Maybe I should advance to entering the Institute and see if the dratted martial music is there. If so...very immersion-breaking. In that case, I would not advise doing Nuka World until after the main storyline is completed. :search

Hmmm. It might be time to farm the BoS at Boston Airport too. My PA Basement requires some hardcore additions - I’ve got a line of 19 BoS paints in T-60, Standard up to Elder and back down. It’s time to make an opposing line with 19 Minutemen T-60 armor.

Ooooo. I have nuka-nukes now. And I can make Big Boy use ‘em also. :pleasantry

Okay, just realized that I put this in the wrong forum. Will a moderator please shift it into the General (Non-SS) forum?

Cheers!

Thank you! :D

Okay, I did a coc into the Institute. The Minutemen theme music is there too.

Reloaded and went to Diamond City marketplace. Minutemen theme music. Though no flags and no Minutemen wandering/patrolling the place.

I guess that after killing off the Nuka World gangs, the game decided that the Minutemen had "won the game" and started using their music everywhere. Go figure...

This may not be the best test, as there is an intro sequence to the Institute with very specific music and I wouldn't be surprised if skipping it breaks stuff in there. Institute music is its own theme entirely.

What state is your world in? Did you finish $mainplot? If so, with whom?

I haven’t finished it yet on that game. Should get through into the Institute in the next couple of days play - assuming that I’m not spending way too much time modding Power Armor changes and tweaks. :grin

Ah gotcha. I'd be willing to bet that when you finish $mainplot, the usual worldstate changes override the "colonial music everywhar" you're currently experiencing. The flags and patrols and things are always (AFAIK....) a function of who you choose to "win" with. Even if you use various shenanigans to keep multiple factions alive - whether it's restored content, or entirely cheaty - whomever you [engame of $mainplot] with will be chosen. TL;DR you won't be forced to hear it forever maybe..?

ok, THAT'S just weird. Surprised it overwrote the Institute theme. It's so clearly meant to be vastly different than the rest of the soundscape as you lay eyes on how far ahead the Institute is.

When did the music start? For example, was it after a quest completion? After entering a settlement? After killing a particular enemy?

Kinggath: I first noticed it after completing Open Season in Nuka World, when I was building up the Red Rocket there.

Spacefiddle: Exactly.

Makes me really wonder what I've done to this game. Is it because I completed Nuka World "out of order" with regard to the main quest? Is it some sort of strange mod conflict? Is it just a weird symptom of a broken game?

If I get a chance tonight, I'll start digging around through old saves. I'm going to track that thing down because it's driving me crazy.

Are you using the Minuteman Faction pack?

There is a feature in SS that can play music. It triggers when you are in a settlement with a City Plan.

The Faction Packs can override this music, so I could see that one adding the Minutemen sounding music. If it turns out to be that, then the issue is that SS is not correctly stopping the music when it should be.

@kinggath I’m not running Conquerer or any Faction Packs. Strictly SS 3-in-1.

This game has only two City Plans active: Starlight Drive In and The Castle. Both are plans of my own creation.

If it’s an SS feature that is/isn’t triggering, then that confirms that this game is broken. I had a very strong suspicion of that, given my issues with testing WS+ and the blueprinting features in Nuka World Red Rocket.

I’m currently at work and won’t be getting home until about 10-11 hours from now. Given what’s been dumped in our laps this morning, I suspect that I’ll not be getting a chance to really look into this until the weekend.

SS doesn't use the Minuteman music, only the default music that plays when you're in Diamond City. So if you're not hearing that, then the issue is somewhere else.

Gotcha. What I will do is go right back to exiting Vault 111 and listening.

Just to be complete: I don’t expect that to be broken. After that I’ll start trying to find the saves just before going to Nuka World.

FIXED!

TL/DR: The issue was in Nuka World, though not to do with completing Open Season. It was due to an issue I'd had in the RobCo Battlezone.

More detail:

In the RobCo Battlezone, I'd had a glitch - I couldn't figure why it wouldn't end and I couldn't get out of the arena. Eventually I used tcl to get out and that left me stuck with the Battlezone music.

I got back into there and looked around with tcl - eventually found a robot stuck between the walls somehow - and blew it up. Bingo, the battle ended properly and I could exit the arena in the way that I should have been able to.

Teleporting into the Institute: I now have Institute theme music. :)
