In this save so far:
Playing faction: Minutemen Liberators
Outpost: Sanctuary
Vassals: Abernathy, Ten Pines, Starlight.
No CTDs assaulting Abernathy (held by raiders), Ten Pines (also raiders), or Starlight (Gunners).
Now I'm seeing the first Defend X triggering. The defend target is Sanctuary. I've reloaded from just before the quest triggers and gotten quests rolled with attacking raiders, Gunners, and Children of Atom, sometimes coming over the bridge, sometimes from the East. I've let both the quest and attack start while I was in Sanctuary and tried letting the quest trigger while I was at Vault 95 and then fast traveling into Sanctuary and also into Red Rocket. In all cases, when the last attacker goes down, the quest completed message pops up, and 1-5 seconds elapses before CTD.
Nothing interesting in the logs (when was there ever), ReSaver won't be able to open my save files until the next release (no idea on timing), nothing seems to cause any variation in the behavior, and I'm clueless as to quests and stages to use to force outcomes for testing; i.e., I'm pretty much out of ideas for researching this before I've really begun. Anyone else have thoughts?
