3.4.6a Not Loading?

I'm getting quite a few reports of patch 3.4.6a preventing the game from starting up correctly.

Are there any Bethesda.net PC players, or Xbox players who have this same problem?


So far, we've narrowed it down to being something I changed that's disagreeing with the Add-on packs, but I haven't figured out what yet. Wondering if this problem is with the raw file uploads, or if the file in general is a problem.

1. If you are having a different issue than I have described above - open a Help request in the forums.

2. If you are having the exact issue I described (inability to get past the main menu), and download your mods from Nexus, roll back to 3.4.5a.

3. If you are having the exact issue I described (inability to get past the main menu), and download your mods from the in-game Mods screen, then please respond to this post.

From your earlier posts, it does not sound like you have the exact issue I described "Im getting quite a few reports of patch 3.4.6a preventing the game from starting up correctly."

If you can load your saves, you're running into a different problem and should start a new thread in the Help section.

I am an xbox one x user and was having this problem after installing the update. I rebooted my xbox and was then able to load the game. However, I am now having the game crash on me about 25% of the time when in workshop mode. I hope this information helps somehow.
PS Sim Settlements is an awesome mod. Thanks so much to all of you that make it happen.

I am having an issue with 3.4.6a preventing the game from loading past the main menu. If I back to 3.4.5 I'm fine. With 6a I can not load CC or the mod menu. also if i go into settings, audio settings will not load. Let me know if this helps, or if you need more info. thank you.

We've discovered the issue. 3.4.6a is fine, the issue is there's an undocumented script data limit in Fallout 4 and the new patch is pushing some folks past it. We'll have a solution in tomorrow's patch.
