1x1 interior plots - why does it start as 1x2?

I'm on the Xbox, and placing these mini interior plots is a huge pain in the a-- because the workshop plot displays as a 1x2 (like normal interior plots). Is there a reason why they aren't a 1x1 in workshop mode? It would make placing them in those small rooms much easier. (I am not versed at using Place Anywhere, though I try, but these plots end up elevating up into the air, clipping into walls, etc., trying to use that functionality.)

It's because the 1x1's are essentially a really clever kludge... The designers took a 1x2 plot and only populated half of it. If you look a at uituit's 1x1 room at l3 while in workshop mode you'll see the outline of a 1x2 room, it's just that half of it is completely empty.

:dance there are glitches you can use in-game with PE but no idea how they work on x-box.
When disable clipping F2 on pc does not work with the snapping points the way I want. I do some variant of the below:
:crazy I like to disable clipping in difficult areas clip in a wall or floor block then enable it, set the interior plot. Then remove the block or wall.

:crazyI also delay construction to max setting. Then do snapping in some unconventional way with "what I call control blocks or floors. "basically an artificial grid that allows snapping and that I have to remove later. C B Wright is also correct. So, where there is a will there is a way even with 1x2 in 1x1 spaces.

:crazyAlso with delayed plot "construction I also will hold e and do mass alignments. better with foundation grids before plots but sometimes both or both if really difficult and the block or floor helps with clipping or snapping. Like a handle is the best way to say it?

:friendsSorry, humble suggestions but though 1x1 would be nice there will always be issues that the above will still work on in difficult spaces. :dance

I find that I have to remove the floor in the space I want to put the plot, and for some reason it's more likely to snap in. Then I put the floor back.

With clipping turned off it's possible to put two 1x1's next to each other by having one overlap the other's empty space.

Ah - that explains it! I never thought about it as only half populated. Thanks!
