Xbox Poll regarding Chapter 2

How Should We Reduce File Size

So am I right to assume that Extended will be updated once C2 releases?
It'll either get updated, or there'll be a "Chapter 2 Extended" specifically for the material in that one to keep them separate, I don't know which would work better from either a technical or a 'futureproofing' perspective.

I ss2 extended part 2 may be better in case some only use part one or that way can be mixed and matched , plus may be more convient if you have them packaged that way.

We're incredibly close to release of Chapter 2! Which means we now have some decisions to make regarding Xbox.

Since you guys are hard up for file space, there are a few sacrifices we're going to have to make to ensure this fits. Thought I'd toss it up for a poll to see what you all think. Vote for as many as you're OK seeing implemented!

(I'll be responding to this post with more details on each poll option for those who want to further understand it.)

Without cuts or sacrifices, Chapter 1 and Chapter 2 together will take up about 1.8 GB. Which for many of you would be a deal-breaker.

Note PC Players - this has no effect on you, we can include the full content for both chapters on PC regardless of what we change for Xbox release!
Downscale the textures to 512. This should have no notable quality loss on xbox and it can be done in batch processing via Icestorm's Texture Tools to unpack and convert to .tga files, then xnview's batch resizing tool, and Icestorm again to convert back to .dds. I recently used this process to AI upscale LOD textures for A Forest to 512, and it took like... 10 minutes. Real painless!

Was anything left out for xbox? As is I had 300mb for other mods which was enough for me to get my QoL mod I enjoy as well as a few other bells and whistles like the interiors for wasteland venturers and apocalyptic additions etc. I'm happy with that.

We ended up cutting all textures in half for Chapter 1 and Chapter 2, which got us down to an amount I was happy with. Future cuts may be made once we get to Chapter 3 as we'd like you guys on Xbox to be able to experience the entire story!

Thank you for considering us Xbox people. One day I will get a series X and maybe then I can actually get to enjoy all of this great mod you all built. Great work!
