I don't know if it is generational but growing up in the country and hearing wind chimes on a stormy night while safe and warm inside, or on a windy autumn day as the season changed.

Now them! are some fond memories!

hahaha, I have an ancient one still, that my Grandmother had. Given that it may be a 100 years old, seriously. One of her sons made it for her in school.

It is still hanging on my back porch.

When I was working on Ultima Online a few thousand years ago, we added a wind chime house decoration with sound to the game. It was great for giving an atmospheric sense of home or being in a shop.
