If you did not get these prompts, then either you forgot to change the ID field, or you had previously answered these prompts and re-opened your form.

Or in the worst case scenario, you were working on the original form from SS2.esm instead and just edited the original - which means you also skipped step 3 - shame! This can be fixed, but that's beyond the scope of this tutorial…
At the end you could add, reload the CK without saving first will revert any accidental changes. This is pretty easy for a n00b to do.

More on Building Skins, could the fo9llowing be added?

In xEdit, run the SS2_ImportStageData script on your mod header. You should get the following popup.
StageDataImport01.jpg
If you are importing a new skin, choose entire skin from the drop-down menu.
This should bring up the following popup.
StageDataImport03.jpg
It takes a while for the script to load. From here, select the building plan record your skin is for.

From here, the existing wiki entry should be good. Maybe add a blurb about the Name and Editor ID fields being for the skin you are importing.

Edit- It took a while for me and a couple of other noobs to wrap our head around the correct use of the xEdit stage data import script. Once the proper use of this script is figured out, it is super powerful, useful and does not require the power of Todd! :)
