which sorting mod?

hi everyone, I want to use a sorting mod. I've used valdicils in the past. is it still the best?

I think so -- I tried the new VIS-G, but really didn't like a lot of the choices he made in how to classify things, and especially that he insisted on renaming a lot of things like weapons. Plus, most VIS sorting patches didn't work with VIS-G. I lived with VIS-G for about a week, and then went back to the original VIS.

Have been using normal VIS for practically every playthrough so far, and kinda come to think of it as the default. I haven't bothered with a lot of patches for mod added items, so there are some items which are not sorted. Like a couple guns, some scrap(SS mainly), and a lot of misc items(holotapes, notes etc.). But honestly it is not really a problem with ~175 mods.
It can be a bit of a PITA to install correctly with various other mods, but can be done.

I too tried vis-g, and while overall I like it, I did not like a few things.
Example:
A lot of junk that has use as more than just scrapping into components, have been given different tags, and are no longer scrappable.

Most tools for example, are now "Tools", and you can't scrap them.
* Hammer, Adjustable Wrench, screwdriver etc.
This is kind of cool - because you can sell them at vault 81....but I CAN"T scrap them now.
(the gear in the adjustable wrench is more valuable than the few caps I get in vault 81....)

Other things (like the military grade circuitboard) are CRAFTING, and cant be scrapped either.
(because you need a few to build the teleport intercept).

Personally, I don't mind the tags, I just want to be able to scrap them still.

VIS is still the best! Also if you're perfectionist like me, I suggest using these as well, in this exact order: DEF_UI, VIS, updated iconlibs2, RadRose, assorted compatibility patches

Is "updated iconlibs2" still needed? I thought I read somewhere that it's out of date, and most of its fixes have been incorporated into VIS anyway....

I like VIS-G - but reverted the weightlessness parts.

When you say "VIS", do you mean Valdicil's or other similar sorting?

I don't use any sorting as I run with Horizon and Zawinul has integrated sorting into Horizon.

Yea, Valdicil's Inventory Sorting = VIS.

Thanks. I had seen other sorting mod names through DEF_UI and wasn't sure. Problem is it hasn't been updated for awhile, Waiting for the v3.0 of Radrose Game enchancements... probably go that route again.
