Primary Bug Report Where There’s Smoke - Quest fails to advance after killing Gunners

I’ve got to the part where I meet Adian and the gunners attack but I’ve killed all the gunners and the quest marker is still just hovering on the small settlement and the objective is to track down the gunners from the radio even after I’ve killed the gunners the combat music continues to play just wondering if anyone has a solution to this problem thanks

Same, killed all the gunners.. Aiden is stuck up on a cliff nearby not moving or talking. Jake is standing near the houses also not engaging in any dialogue

I had to hunt down some of the Gunners, as they had wandered off to fight the raiders at Zimonja. And then I had to come back and stand in the right spot (about where the fight started) to get the convo that finishes things.

I am encountering that same problem myself. I wondered a little ways away and saved my game. On a hunch, I took on what @Pax1138 mentioned about Outpost Zimonja... but got killed by Boomer (took a mini nuke to the face). Anywho, when I reloaded to my save after I killed the Gunners, I was then awarded some unlocked stuff such as buildings, but the combat music was still on and I had lost track of Aiden. So I tried again at Outpost Zimonja - THIS TIME I found 3 Gunners engaged with the raiders. That was when Jake had some dialogue, something about "... And that is over." So, I wiped out Zimonja and claimed it as my own while 4 MORE Gunners showed up almost on top of each other!

Anyway, long story short, I had to find the rest of the Gunners at Zomonja, got a lot of loot and made it back and found Aiden and Jake standing there but with no dialogue.... I still wasn't able to continue with the quest. .... This was with version 1.0.0e

Also stuck with Aiden, Jake and myself staring awkwardly at each other... no convo. Checked out Zimonja but just raiders there. Ver. 1.0e. Is there a console command to force progression?

you guys are lucky, mine won't progress past where you're supposed to talk to jake at the hardware store, i did and he said he was going to go boost the power and i was supposed to tune the radio. but no new markers, quest doesn't update, nothing.

I did a few things to get this quest completed:

1. Cleared out all the gunners when the fight started, then traveled to Tenpines and waited 24h. When I came back to the battle area, more gunners had shown up and I killed them
2. Cleared out Outpost Zimonja. There were no gunners there for me, just raiders.
3. Walked back to the battle area, Aiden and Jake are now standing together and the dialogue kicked in once I talked to Aiden

I got stuck here as well, here's how I got past it:

1. Watched Jake walk down to the Civics hatch so he leaves the area
2. Sat in the radio chair, kept pressing down key to tune the radio (didn't spam it, let the dialogue play out before hitting again)
3. Everything progressed normally when it tuned to the right frequency.

Also having the problem with them staring at each other and nothing happening. Gonna try clearing Zamonjia when I get home Sunday and see if that helps.

Just putting my own problems in to help with bug fixing.

I cleared Zimonja before doing the quest.

I killed the mercs, and raiders before clearing all the check points, (I think this might be a reason why some people are bugging out).

Went to clear the other northern most checkpoint I hadn't checked yet, and jake disappeared entirely while following me.

Fast traveled away, waited 24 hours, and came back to find Aiden engaged in another battle.. Killed those mercs, still nothing, and jake is still completely AWOL nowhere to be found.

Still trying to figure out how to progress..

I "kinda" figured out how to get it going by going back to the point where the quest marker was located, and then I just moved around aimlessly around that area (think of it as just flopping around with the WASD keys) until I hit that just right "spot" and suddenly Aiden spoke first. After that I was able to finish the quest.

Alright, I actually found a solution for the problem and it's, let's say, unorthodox and only for pc as it requires console commands so bear with me.

Note, Caps is required for capped letters

In the console, you want to write "CompleteQuest SS2_Sirick_MQ11"

After that you need to write "SetStage SS2_Sirick_MQ12 5"

This will start the next quest.

Note, You should get a Quest completed notification

Don't be frightened. The quest is "already completed" after the conversation between Jack and Aiden. I tried to progress with another command but it wouldn't let me so that makes me assume it's completed, will also be explained why later.

For those interested, I got the quest name by writing "sqt" and then used the quest name to find out the quest stage with "sqo (Quest name)".
This will display the quest objectives with their respective numbers. So the "5" after SS2_Sirick_MQ12 tells the game that I want to start the first objective. You might also have noticed the difference between MQ11 and MQ12. MQ stands for "Main Quest" and the number is the main quest number (duh)

I could see that there wasn't no further stage of "Where there's smoke" as the current objective was set to 60, and there wasn't a objective 70 in the "sto".

I did everything you mentioned above, but I kept getting the script name not found. I use sqt and it shows SS2_Sirik_MQ11.
