Question Used Sim Settlement holotape, unable to craft

Hi. I'm signing up here because apparently nexus isn't the place to ask questions anymore. I don't have the Sim Settlements or Conqueror crafting tabs in workshop mode after running the holotape. So I can't craft the war planners desk (nor even the regular city planner's desk).

Hmm. I've not had a problem with the holotape not working for me.
Since you have HUDFramework, you should see a Sim Settlements entry in your escape menu. You should be able to create a new holotape from there.
(Mod Config -> Sim Settlements: right there on the main page, not in a sub-category, towards the bottom of the page)
I'd probably drop the original one, and then make a new one so you're not using the 'bad' one again.

Please try that and see if a new holotape works for you.

shoot.
I got nothing. I'm sorry. Hopefully someone else will chime in that's fought that fight already.

I have a few dumb questions:

Have you run the settlement menu manager to see if that fixes it?

Do you have Asam sensors?

Did you check under special tab?

Have you rolled back a save or 2 to see if maybe it was just a glitch?

No such thing as dumb questions. I ran the menu manager, didn't fix it. I got the boxes of ASAM sensors from the Museum of Freedom. They're still in my inventory. Nothing under the special tabs, no. Did the save thing too, yes.

I’m on Xbox and my experience with mods is limited so I can’t say for sure what your issue is (and I might not know the terminology you are used to) but I did have something similar happen to me in the past. I started a new game with USO (unlocked settlement objects) and after getting the holotape and using it I didn’t have the SS menu. USO changes the menu in settlement mode and that somehow stopped the SS menu from appearing. I removed it, got the SS menu back and even put USO back in and all worked. I remember that I managed to fix it in future playthrough by changing the load order but I since stopped using it I don’t remember what ended up working.

What I can recommend if looking at any mod that makes changes to your workshop menu and see if disabling one will fix your issue

I took off all the mods except Sim Settlements, Conqueror, City Plan, mega packs 1 and 2, and it doesn't fix it.

Just to be clear: did you also start up a new game with just these mods enabled and you still had the same problem? If you pull the all the carrots out of the soup, the stock will still taste like carrots.

What happens if UFO4P is first in your order on a new start?

Are all of the versions you have for the mods below the latest?

I believe that Conq., SS, and Workshop Framework (I think that's the one) are all updated at the same time and need the same version number. I don't know if having different versions of these would cause SS to not show up in the Workshop menu though.
Your problem stumps me. I'm sorry I can't help. :(

I figured it out, but I'm trying to troubleshoot it more. You need to craft one ASAM sensor before Sim Settlements shows up in the list of craftables in workshop mode. The boxes and stray sensors in the Museum of Freedom aren't counting towards that. I went back a few saves and saw that doing that triggers it. However, crafting the ten pack of ASAM sensors doesn't trigger it.

Was this also the case when you started a new game with just SS mods enabled?

That's unusual and something I've not encountered. Typically I use the holotape and then when I enter workshop mode, the SS menu is present.
Nothing in your mod list seems out of the ordinary.

Perhaps load order is a thing. I use LOOT (Load Order something something) and I haven't had a mod conflict since.
Long story short, I bought a new computer and re-downloaded all of my tracked mods and FO4 simply wouldn't start. I was even dealing with Bethesda customer support (who were wicked helpful). Turns out, mod conflict. Specifically load order. I got LOOT, it cleaned that up and I was in business.
