I'm terrible at explaining myself, so try to follow along

I'd love to see some sort of UI assistance when placing plots, such as a grid. For example, I'm wanting to place a residential plot without using snapping, but have no way to precisely align them. A small 2D grid plane around the plot or item I'm placing appears, starting at the base of the foundation of the plot. This grid plane could possibly cover the the surface of the ground/area in a similar fashion that light is produced on the ground. Or possibly be a flat and horizontal 2D circle. I think the term is "Terrain Grid". It could be small and centered around the plot (this might be the easier choice), or large enough to cover the settlement. This grid could be assigned to a hotkey in the workshop, so that way its not an "always-on" feature whenever you open the workshop. Image below for example.

That would be great, I just don't think it can be done. There are parts of the UI that are not very easy to fix or access.

While it Might Be possible:
1) It would be a Stupidly Huge amount of work.
2) It would probably have to use a crazy amount of scripts to do that, likely choking the rest of the game.
Despair not.
3) It's not Really needed....
Using Place Everywhere you can do what you want:
1) Let them snap to each other, then PE can slide them to the side (or up/down) or rotate them (in X or Y as well just Z)
OR
2) Record the orientation of one plot, build the next plot beside it. Then set the rotation of the 2nd to match the 1st, you're lined up.
OR
3) Build a plot record it's position, move it to the side(s)/up/down, build a 2nd, set it to the original position of the 1st plot...
