Question TimeScale, resetting.

Hello.

It's been 2 years that i am using WS+ with other building mods with no problems at all:
Cheat Terminal = (1 minute = 1 Fallout 4 minute)
Place Everywhere
Scrap Everything

I've enjoyed so much and focusing in building by flying and using all available options.

But after the last update (Dec 2023, Workshop Framework and Workshop Plus) building has
become a stress procedure. Almost every time after i am exiting the Workshop Mode, game
TimeScale is resetting to default (20.000) and i have to press ~ check the TimeScale with
"show timescale" just to be sure that is at 1.000 or to "set timescale to 1.000" again.

Before, the TimeScale (that i've set through Cheat Terminal once), was always steady at
my preference chosen value.
Now, after exiting WS mode, Cheat Terminal has no option activated. I've tried to re-set
it but doesn't affect the game at all. Seems that WShop+ have major priority to TimeScale.
Only "set timescale to 1.000" through console have an impact, but even this command is
resetting to default after exiting building mode. Building is no fun anymore.

Any help/directions ?
Thank you.

Hello @ADHS

I asked a few questions and kinggath looked into it:
Looking at the Freeze Time code - fairly certain that's it. I think once you turn on Freeze Time even if you turn it off, WS+ will keep trying to reset the time scale.

Should be a patch for it tomorrow.
Im pretty sure Scrap Everything is on the list of do not mix with Sim Settlements. It more than likely shattered the precombines where you are making the game load every item individually - and it is 4 years or so out of date.

Perhaps Raze my Settlement / Clean My Settlement redux would fit that need? Their worked on by someone who plays SS2 :D

Ive been using a bat file to set 1 to 1 when Im building and so far I havent see the same thing you are. It sounds like something is saving and overwriting your selections.
mework Script Override. You get it on the Workshop framework page. You place it last in your load order and if SS2's scripts are overwritten it detects it and restores them.

You got this :)

Skywise001,
thank you for your answer and directions.

I will check with "Workshop Framework Script Override"
and just in case for someone else with similar issues like i do,
i will report back any success/failure results.

PS: (In details, i tried very hard to concentrate all :crazy)
Not using Sim Settlements.

Besides "Cheat Terminal" (for TimeScale=1to1) and WS Framework + WShop+
(for building) i am not using any Weather or time based related mods.

Even if "Scrap Everything" is old, i had no problems working with it
together with Workshop Framework and Workshop+. As it is an area/object based mod,
with no any custom edit that can alter game's TimeScale, in my opinion, i trust it to work with.

"Place Everywhere" is altering TimeScale (F11, in WShop Mode: toggles TimeScale to 0.0100/0.1000)
but (officially) it cooperates side by side with WSHop+.

I've read a thread for a workaround that fixing WShop+ TimeScale
similar problem but it worked randomly in my case. Not stable.
(Turns OFF WShop+ "Freeze Time" option and then entering exiting WS mode).
Once others also have reported similar issues, i think there is something that needs to be fixed/double check in WShop+.

And for last just a technical question (if you know):
For sure: Workshop framework + Workshop plus are altering game's TimeScale.

Are they using/calling the default game's TimeScale variable in any stage ?
If they do, i think that a simple custom variable, just to store the
current user's TimeScale value (before entering Workshop Mode),

can be in use to re-define game's TimeScale (after exiting WS Mode).

Skywise001, it works. :agree:

"Workshop Framework Script Override":
It didn't worked right away.
I had to fix TimeScale 3-4 times and after some
saves, i was building for 8 hours with no problem.

Thank you, again

EDIT: Scrip Override did fixed something, but the problem came back randomly.
As Cessori found out, indeed there was a need for a new update.

Hello.
Just reporting back results after testing.

Working with the new versions of:

Workshop Plus = 1.0.14, 22-Dec-2023.
Workshop Framework = 22-Dec-2023.
Workshop Framework Script Override = 22-Dec-2023.

After 10 hours (building/testing)=problem solved.

FYI:
TimeScale changed, once i used "Cheat Terminal" to expand Workshop Size limit to x2.
So who ever face
this problem again, (in my opinion) it will be a general mods compatibility matter.

Awesome Im sure that will help them tweak it a bit. Im so glad you got it figured out :D

Hello again.

I have some more results to add after i did a major hard "test-drive" with WS+.
TimeScale still reseting to 20.000 randomly, but it does.
Once WS+ has been fixed, i am thinking if "Workshop Framework" time managing
routines worth a check. Just in case.

Thank you.

PS: All tests made with no other time related mod ON
and just for "test-drive" purposes: "Place Everywhere" = OFF.
