Old Post Three Situations - Need Assisance

Now see.... when you have something happen like Danse attacking you when you try to vassal a settlement, that is a bug and needs to be reported on the Nexus mod page :blum I had that issue occur early on with the faction pack and corrected it, but no one else has mentioned it since so I assumed it was fixed. If it is still happening, then I need to be notified so I can look in to it.

As far as any comments on the load order.... I despise any scrapping mod like Scrap Everything, Spring Cleaning, etc. I could go on a 24 hour rant about mods that disable precombines just to remove leaves and stuff, but I won't. If you want to use them... go for it... but if your frames start to tank in settlements or anywhere else and you get crashes and stuff as times goes on, then just remember that scrapping mods break optimization systems that are there in order to keep the game stable. All I am gonna say on that...

For Survival Options... if you're only using it for fast travel in Survival, then I would just find a mod that does specifically that. I am really really suggesting you find alternatives to SO is all. I have had it break my game more times than I can count. But, like the scrapping thing, it's your load order and if you want to use it, go for it.... just be cautious what you adjust. Don't touch the respawn timers/cell reset timers in SO. Those are notorious for screwing things up.

Other than that, it looks fine I would say. I just have soap box-style issues with mods that are out-dated and not supported and/or mods that break game systems in order to work lol

SpaceFiddle - thanks. I deleted Tales of the Commonwealth to focus more on the Conqueror/Liberator MM and BoS mods.

Takarazuka - with everything going-on regarding CTDs, freezes and “why is this happening”, I did not get to the Danse attacking me bug. I will report it on your Nexus page shortly (Update: completed). Scrapping and Survival Options comments noted.

(Update) Takarazuka - after re-reading your Scrap Everything comments, I discovered and replaced SE with the Settlement Salvage Bots.
Go Vols

@Takarazuka, please. I encourage you. Talk about precombines. It is a subject that when missed by users can cause them a lot of discouragement.

It’s a good thing. :declare

I also hate talking about scraping mods. Its a painful subject :crazy

Anyone technical has their Holy Ground that others trod upon at their peril. I have tons of 'em, but after two and half decades in various levels of IT, I have come to accept that not only will people wildly violate every possible standard of sensible uses of technology, but the world will continue to roll on as they do so :]

That said, please take this brochure I've prepared while I regale you for an hour about how I feel about the phrase "lore-friendly" ;)

Started a new game with no SS RotC mod and made it to Red Rocket and a visit to Abernathy. Because Abernathy "looked bare", started another new game with the SS RotC mod on the medium setting, and replaced the Scrap Everything mod with the Salvage Bot mod. About 1hr 30m into the game while salvaging at Sanctuary, exited the game and got the Quit Freeze. Disabled the Salvage Bot mod and still got the Quit Freeze. Deleted and reinstalled FO4 and disabled the SS RotC mod, loaded an earlier save from 1hr 7m and the Quit Freeze occurred again. This raises a question that kinggath may have addressed that I completed mis-understood:
if you have the Conqueror and RotC mods, and after the bathroom scene when the progress bar appears in the upper left corner, must you wait until the settlement creation, as represented by the progress bar, is fully completed, before you can save/reload?

I absolutely love the author of salvage bot. Still... did the bot get baked? :jester Salvage bot is not just a scrapper, that is scripted, and adds items to the sanctuary cell. Likely the save file is the issue and all you needed to do was start a new game. All the data from the previous game including glitch’s is stored in the save file you reloaded. Mods like this do not play well with city plans sometimes/ often enough.

My recommendation is:
For many reasons do not add any scrap mods to your game until out of the vault and you know everything is working. Then add, test, and roll back if needed.

You may want to look at the below:

Next, I recommend not leaving the vault until it is completed. I didn’t understand this part of the question?

Wow – and here I thought I was organized and detail oriented. I downloaded and will read your page later, however, for now I will start my fourth bathroom scene in 3 days.:yahoo

I agree - a neat/handy little mod. What does “bot get baked” mean?

That was one of my conclusions from last week, but the Quit freeze did not start until 30 hrs into gameplay. I apparently had some save bloat; and tried restarting from older saves, made some progress, and then the save freeze would reoccur, which then lead to starting this post.

Thanks, will do.

Basically, you answered my long winded question – thanks.

I am still concerned that the SS RotC is playing a role in my problems, but maybe this approach will work.

Thanks again.

Oh, once you read the link you’ll get the idea.

As is, mods like this one I install later in the game so once I test it I don’t have to roll all the way back to the beginning in order to remove it :bye If it doesn’t work well :acute
