YO! so been playing my game with the old legacy sim settlements 1, been doing a minuteman run and was bored and went to nuka world! did the maze and talked to porter and then killed nisa and was planning on taking out all the gangs and ridding the earth of those horrible raide.... THEN all my settlements decided to leave me, so... a work around?

no, i planned on killing them all since i was doing a minuteman playthrough and well that would fit the whole "for the commonwealth!" type of ideals...

but if i did join atleast one, would that fix the issue?

Prolly not :( there is a patch for nuka world in the file section for SS1you may need that but it may be to late for ur current save.
Do you have a save you can get back to before u started Nuka World?
Can you go back to ur settlements and reclaim them?

So this just happened to me as well. I was talking over nuka world power plant when Mason suddenly attacked me and the mission failed. Now I've lost control of my outposts. On the war desk it says that starlight is still my main outpost, but it is registered to n/a. How do I go about reclaiming my bases?

Its possible the patch is broken, i will let the rest of teh support team know about this issue.

The outpost is still lost to me after patching. Is there any way to make those outposts mine again or am I back to starting over? Again.
After patch, starting a new game, do I need to avoid nuka world to keep this from happening again or will the patch allow me to go there?

Im not 100% sure on that ,we hav had reports of it working fine and able to run nuka world gang and jammers gang but we hav had reports losing all settlements :(
Starting a new game with the patch may hav mixed results. Do you have a save you can get back to before you started NukaWorld?

No saves worth going back to. I went to nuka world very early. I was using nuka world as a safe save point because I get a LOT of bad saves when I save in the commonwealth. At this point a set myself for a quicksave, an auto save and an exitsave in three different places to maximize the chances that I'll have a successful save point to come back to. Fizztop mountain seems to have good saves. It's pretty maddening when all three saves fail seventy hours in. Maybe I'll try far harbor for safe saves next.

:( another idea for safe saves is a internal area ,also never save in a settlement just to much stuff happening in a settlement and when you load in its more work for the save to do.

You cud try Fallrim Tools on ur save
