You said you guys have talked a little bit on what you maybe wanted to do after Chapter 3 and Jakes story is finished....
One suggestion would be to put the HQ mechanics and the Sim Settlement 2 city building mechanics together and create a true vault settlement story mod. Using the mod mechanics that have already been laid someone could really make a cool "fallout shelter" type mod.
The Vault tech DLC and Vault 88 was a little bit dis-appointing but I could see this being pretty cool. You could clear new rooms/remove rubble like you cleaned rooms at HQ, and then select what you want in that room from a menu, again like you did with the HQ. But you would also have access to a workbench so that you could bring in settlers and decorate the vault. There are all kinds of story ideas that you could create to go along with the vault.
