Starting a playthrough from the beginning with Chapter 2 installed?

Hi,
Sorry if this has been explained somewhere. I had a search but couldn't find it.
I'm going to start a new playthrough and I want to play through chapter 1 first. If I download SS2 2.0 and chapter 2 will the chapter 2 content automatically come in at a certain point (ie, once chapter 1 quests are all finished)? I'd rather it doesn't come in too early (given what I've seen in the trailers).
Or I am better off just installing SS2 2.0 then getting chapter 2 when I am ready for it?

Chapter 2's "story" content continues on directly from where Chapter 1's ended off, so that's not a worry. Not sure about any of the other stuff like the new side quests and/or new plot subtypes etc yet - still waiting on downloads here.

Start it right away "both in a new game." SS2 & SS2CH2. Unofficially, a new game is what I suggest to get the best experience.

Good QOL things will spawn in at the very beginning of a new game that will make sense as you go.
hahaha, pick up the disease cures from Carla and Trudy just as you would do with the early ASAMS.
Important C2 side quests become available around 1/2 way through CH1.

Cool, thanks.
I don't usually buy ASAMs off the vanilla vendors because it seems weird that they would have them. Is there a reason that makes sense in the story as to why they would have them?

The impression I get is that they're not impossibly rare, just nobody until you and Jake knew how to actually use them for their intended purpose - I mean if nothing else there's some high grade electronics in there that you could cannibalise for any number of other purposes, so there'd definitely be value in them even without actually building Plots with 'em.

I made a new savegame last week and its been running very solid, until I installed CH2. After a few I get a CTD whenever I load a save. I may do a bit of troubleshooting, but I'm planning on just starting over.
