Question SS1 Query

Hello everyone! I'm new here. So, I've had used SS before with the vanilla game, downloaded the 3-in-1 version from Nexus and installed via Vortex. The mod functions were running like normal with plots options available and such. Then, I upgraded my vanilla (Steam version) to the GOTY version which now includes all the DLCs. And, I also downloaded and enabled SS2, Chapter 2 and Chapter 3, as well as SS2 extended via in-game mod downloads. So, I started a new game because I noticed having upgraded to the GOTY version, my vanilla modded saved game from before was no longer available/missing for some reason. And, when I came to Sanctuary and used the workshop bench, I noticed that the plot option was no longer available and when I use the city management holotape, the Advanced Gameplay options is blank. And, when I chose to enable auto-assign functions, they do not seem to be working. So, thinking that it could be conflicts, I disabled all SS2 related mods, tried loading the game before I reached Sanctuary, and noticed that the same options as though SS2 was still there. So, I decided to start a new game with just SS1 there, but still the other functions that were there with SS1 from before in the vanilla are no longer there. Tried uninstalling and reinstalling the SS mod via vortex and still same. So, I'm thinking if I should start a new game again and see if the old options would appear. What are your suggestions? Thanks!

Go into vortex / saved games tab /opensaved games button
If the files are still there grab em and put them aside just in case :)

I started a new game with just SS1 installed. I'll try to see if the SS1 options in the workshop bench have reappeared. I'll let you all know.

Plot. Also SS2 has a solid tutorial even with all its flaws. More involved mechanics and you can make some pretty splended things.

So, since I've started a new game for SS1, what would be the main differences between SS1 and SS2, should I decide to just go for SS2?
With just SS1, you have building plans and city plans to build settlements. If you install also Industrial Revollution, you get the addition of industrial plots. Installing Conqueror adds taking over settlements and conquering settlements, vassals and an unfinished story. Code for SS1 is older than SS2 and the mod is in Legacy Mode, which means that updates no longer occur, only fixes if absolutely needed. It is playable as far as I know still, but building plan add-ons, faction packs, etc are likely not being maintained by mod authors - most were last updated in 2020. I haven't played it since SS2 was released.

SS2 is Story and Settlement bulding, with conquering settlements in Chapter 3. Tons of content with Unique Settlers, most with their own stories and is still receiving updates for bug fixes, and new content.
