Northland Diggers mod has several new job types for settlers. Several of them revolve around providing the player with build components like concrete, wood, springs and gears, etc. Others provide food and leather / bone, fertilizer, etc. He even has an Herb station (shhh).
I use this mod in all my games as it focuses the settlers on making the stuff I need to make my settlements even more bigger and betterer. The drawback of using it with SS is that I have manually assign settlers to do it. Plus, his stuff doesn't evolve as the settlement improves. While his workbenches have a ton of character, the settler just stands there and bangs away on the same rock making me concrete... forever.

Each of his stations are about the size of a scavenging station and would fit very nicely into an Interior Industrial plot. We could elaborate on the surrounding plot space as the plot levels up. We could also adjust the amounts delivered as the plot levels up. The concrete example always provides 30 Ceramic and 300 Concrete. Maybe that could be the Level 3 output (it's set a bit high, but I don't complain cuz I use it ALL).

How / What does it take to get another Mod Author's stuff into SS? Is that something that is done? Can I help?

You would need written permission from another mod author before you can use the assests in your mod.

Thanks! Once I get the Newbie flushed out of my system, I will endeavor to bring the chocolate of SS together with the peanut butter of Northland Diggers.
Tasty.

Also make sure when duplicating an asset with idle markers the markers don't rotate out of proper alignment.
I had that problem with a casket bed for my vampires. Bugger rotated 180 degrees out. LOL

I posted on the Nexus for permission to use Northland Diggers. The mod author posted 17 June that he's giving up on modding but that people can 'continue his work'. That's not quite permission enough for me so I asked him for consent to use his mod as Sim Settlements Industrial Plots and how I would adapt his mod.
Hopefully he checks in. :)
