I am a partially disabled army veteran that had three separate combat tours. Being able to serve was a privilege that I will be forever grateful for. I learned a lot, like; honor is something you give not get, and sacrifice for something more "there is always something more" are all things best experienced and learned from at the fringes of human existence. I think I learned that the meaning of life for me was simply "to give it one." ha, but who is to say
Go-Sappers ~Renegade_Six
I have been in leadership positions my entire adult life, trying to help others and doing a lot of stuff that I could have never imagined. I’ve been a Farmhand, Blacksmith, Fireman/EMT, Army Officer, Engineer, and held positions of leadership, labor relations, and management around the world.
Now, entering a new stage in life in which one simply gives it all back. I really like quotes. Often, unfortunately to the dismay of some, making my own and sharing them. Here are some that I really like :D :
"When we selflessly help others, we fix ourselves. When we selfishly try to fix others, we hurt ourselves." ~DAK
“So many people are shut up tight inside themselves like boxes, yet they would open up, unfolding quite wonderfully, if only you were interested in them." ~Syliva Plath
“The first half of life is devoted to forming a healthy ego, the second half is going inward and letting go of it.” ~Carl Jung. I translate this as: "In order for the soul to rise, the ego must descend" ~DAK
